DO NOT HIRE, ONLY PROBLEMS AND NO FOLLOW UP. I contracted with A Woman’s Touch. Delaware to Florida. They did a pre contract assessment of my belongings and gave me a fair price. They showed up on the day of the move as planned. FACT Prior to this I arranged for additional insurance that they did not provide prior to pick up. I had to make sure that it was added that day. I never got an insurance or terms and conditions of the additional insurance. FACT They did not acknowledge all of the things that were to be moved that I had gotten rid of and focused on the problem of adding a few items that would replace those things. This caused some tension during the loading. FACT They also constantly reminded that pressed wood, or furniture built myself, would not be covered if damaged. While the owner seems to understand the moving process, FACT, the workers seemed to be simply young guys, family, or other workers that were not trained movers. The truck arrived in Florida as planned and unloading commenced. FACT Shelf brackets were not removed and protected and several were lost. One piece of furniture, a bar (and yes, pressed wood) was completely destroyed due to its top being pulled out of the bottom. FACT I was not informed of this and when I found it, the owner acknowledged she saw it but that “tightening a few screws would fix it.” FACT They did not attempt to fix it and I told her and sent her pictures to file a claim under my additional insurance. The same was true of 2 desks (yes, pressed wood.) FACT The damage was in Identical places across the bottom of the desks and it was obvious the a restraining strap had crushed the bottom. Again, I filed a claim under the additional insurance that I had purchased. A shelf was lost. 4 side chairs had the legs put on (reassembled) as was part of the moving contract. FACT the legs were not positioned correctly and were not tightened. Of the 4 chairs 1 is broken from being sat on. FACT a kitchen table and chairs was assembled but screws were not tightened at all. This was found before use would have broken this furniture. Many pieces of furniture were scratched or the finished “rubbed off” during the driving process. I have moved pressed wood furniture myself. I have never damaged a pressed wood piece of furniture and know for a fact that if properly handled damage is not likely. I have called A Woman’s Touch repeatedly to discuss the move. They do not take my calls. FACT Messages are left. FACT They do not return my calls. Now 2.5 weeks after delivery, FACT I cannot get a call returned. FACT I have no copy of the $10,000 additional insurance that I purchased. FACT I cannot get a copy of the additional insurance claims that were to be filed under that policy. Given the above, I feel that the additional insurance costs that I paid are just like stolen money. I am very unhappy with the lack of professionalism that I saw in the loading and unloading of my furniture. I am insulted that they will not answer or return my calls. I am deeply concerned about their integrity in dealing with my purchase of additional insurance and the lack of proper handing of it and my claims. A Woman’s Touch came highly recommended by 2 friends. While I understand that one of the principles in the company had left (which could explain some of their problems) I am baffled as to how a company could treat its customer so bad and that my experience was so different than other people’s. This is not a post in anger or as a result of anger during moving, In fact, other than some tension early on in the loading process and some during unloading, my relationship with the company was congenial. The bottom line: I feel the additional insurance money was simply stolen from me. I feel that the company cares nothing for the damage that they did. My only recourse is a public posting hoping to warn others about the pitfalls that I encountered. Saving about $1000 over a mainline mover was not worth the aggravation or the problems that I am left with.

I booked this moving company well in advance for a local move yesterday. They called the morning of and cancelled. They insisted they called around to find another company to help with no success. I had to search for another company on the last Friday of the month, with all of my belongings packed in limbo and keys in hand having made the arrangements for me and my partner to lose a day of work. Thankfully, I found another company who did an amazing job but charged a premium for same-day booking. I called several times to at least have the company make up the difference and I have yet to hear back. Unprofessional and completely unacceptable.

these guys were great. they showed up on time, worked non-stop, were super careful to do things the right way, and the way we wanted them done. they got the job done super fast, and were very professional and courteous. Lee was the head of the operation at our place, and he was very very good. he had everything in line, there were no gaps in communication, and was just overall really good. prices beat many other moving companies in the area, and they provided 5 free wardrobe boxes and three movers for the same price as other companies offer two.
