Ahmeds Moving Express

I really wanted to like this company and be able to refer friends to them. They had a lot of great reviews and they were only a mile away from my house. They came recommended by a good friend who had used them 4 times a few years ago so I went with them because of that. However, it became apparent the day after the move there was something not right about the day. It was a very stressful move to begin with and the men who showed up seemed good to go. After being charged $450 more than their original estimate and giving the lead mover $120 in cash tips plus $50 in food, a $40 bottle of tequila, and a 45" flat screen tv, we realized $140 in cash was missing from my mother's wallet. The lead mover didn't act gracious at all upon receiving the tip and barely even acknowledged it. It was all so strange. He kept saying he was giving me a deal because he didn't charge me for a few [already used] boxes or the extra 5 minutes that they weren't still working anyway. I called the owner of the company the next day when we realized the cash was missing. She insisted they had never received any complaint of theft. I thought that was obvious since those men wouldn't be working for them anymore if they had. It felt awful to tell her that $140 was missing from my mother's wallet but we were 100% certain there was no other possible explanation. She said she would question them and get back to me. Do you really think any of them would admit stealing the cash????? Knowing they would lose their job? And now I am at risk as they all know where I live. I also brought up how much more it cost than was originally quoted. I was promised at 5% discount in my original conversation even if I didn't use cash. They didn't honor that when I paid by check. So it cost $1450 plus an extra $350 in tips and stolen cash to move 2 miles away. 2 miles away! I should have rented a U-Haul and used friends but I am disabled and tired of asking for help. I would have saved over $1000 and my mother would have had enough cash to help pay the cleaners the next day. A week later I have heard nothing nor do I think I will. I won't be referring anyone to them and hope they realize there is a thief in their company who may have been getting away with it for a long time. It would have been professional to compensate me the $140 that was stolen or even an apology that I had this kind of experience. Nothing. Hopefully I won't have to move for a long time but if I do I won't be using Ahmed's company again. Update: The owner finally responded after I posted this review. She apologized for dropping the ball. She sent a check for $140 even though it was clear they didn't believe their workers stole the cash. And having no way to actually prove it there is nothing more we could do. Honestly if someone had an experience like this of my company I would have refunded them at least 50% if not a full refund but everyone runs their businesses their own ways. I know they are not hurting for cash or business, but I sure am as a struggling, single, self-employed mom here in Marin and was hoping they would honor at the very least the 5% discount I was promised initially. Lesson learned.

I have used Ahmed's Moving Express to relocate my company offices twice, and for personal moves. Their staff is always professional, clean, punctual and efficient. They also have reasonable prices. I highly recommend this company if you are looking to move.

The best moving company I’ve ever experienced! They were on time, professional, hark working, thoughtful and careful of your stuffs. We just moved today from Larkspur to Novato in one trip efficiently within 3 hours! They are amazing and super efficient!!! We appreciate all their helps in our successful moving!!!

I was stressed about moving with a toddler and wanted to do as much as possible myself but knew we needed help. Tom came out for an accurate estimate and told me what to prioritize if I was going to move some items before they came. I scheduled a packing day but was able to pack everything myself. They congratulated me instead of charging a fee for canceling. They called twice to confirm my move and addresses. The day of they were right on time. We had a group of four incredibly hard working, professional guys. They were careful with all of my belongings and set up all my furniture to my liking, moving a 9x12 rug and couches twice to make sure I loved the set up. One of my old side tables had a hidden drawer that I forgot to disclose. The hidden drawer fell out during the move and chipped. They fixed it and then showed me to make sure I was satisfied with the repair on the spot. With the work I did before hand and their speed the move took less time than estimated and my final bill was much lower which was the icing on the cake. I hate moving, but I now know to call Ahmed’s to make the process as painless as possible, fantastic experience!!!!
