Jay and his crew did a perfect job for our long-distance move. If you are looking for prompt, professional service in Charlotte for a relocation, these are the people to see. They were helpful and available every step of the way.
While I am late providing this review, I want to say what an awesome experience I had with All My Sons. I moved on February 8th which was a cold, rainy and slightly “snowy” day. Patrick and his team were fantastic! They were on time, efficient, and took great care of all of my items to be moved. The set up at the new home was equally as good! I would definitely recommend All My Sons, and ask for Patrick and his team!!
On a day that should have been one of the happiest days of our lives, I was brought to tears by the lack of professionalism and damage to my brand new home by the All My Sons Moving & Storage company in Charlotte, NC. The day started off without issue. Movers arrived around 8:45am at the first stop to pick up a few items that would be brought to the house. We noticed that there was no sense of urgency with the three movers, then realized that since we were paying by the hour, perhaps efforts for a timely move was not necessary. Because we were excited, we opted to ignore the dirt that was tracked on the carpet, but instead looked forward to the next stop. At the second stop, we ended up contacting the manager to advise of our dissatisfaction. After the movers arrived at the drop off point, prior to unloading the truck, they provided an invoice of $1200, and we were baffled. When we spoke to the company, they advised of a $150 fee, then $159 an hour for labor. Additionally, there was almost a $60 fee for packing materials. We called the company and spoke with Brock. He stated that the payment was due, and although it was 1:15pm, they were charging until 4:00pm. He stated that if the job was completed prior to 4:00, then the difference would be refunded. I asked him about the fee for packing, he stated that it was mentioned during the conversation prior to the move. We'd hoped that the movers would have disclosed the added cost to potentially provide us with the option to decline. Had the invoice been provided at the first stop (which it could have since they charged for approximately seven hours), then we would have opted out of using All My Sons. The moving team simply lingered while we were on the phone. Nothing was being unloaded. I asked Brock “should they be unloading?” and “are we still on the clock?” He stated that as long as we were talking “regardless of if they were working or not, then we were still being charged.” He advised that he did not want to argue with me. I advised that there was no argument, just a request for clarification. The reality was that I was in disbelief that he hadn't set expectations at the beginning of the call that I was still being charged "by the hour" and that I had to ask about it eight minutes into the call. It was apparent in his tone and language that he didn’t care if we stayed on the phone or not. Either way, the company was being paid. He advised that until payment was collected, the movers would remain on the clock and our belongings would remain on the truck. Since apparently time was money, we reluctantly paid the $1200, and the movers slowly began to move items off of the truck. Around 1:30pm, I heard one of the team members tell the others that they had until 4:00pm to unload. Seeing that they'd slowed down the pace even more, instead of having everything moved to the second floor, we opted to have any boxes simply unloaded on the first floor and have the larger furniture moved to the second floor. I witnessed the moving team hitting items on the door frames, items dropping off of the truck (no apologies provided), and complete disrespect. In the stairwell, there were marks on the wall and scrapes. A door stop was broken that will now need to be replaced. We were in complete disbelief that this was happening in a brand new house that we hadn't even spent one night in. After the move, I called and talked to Mike, a manager. I told him that the movers had left us souvenirs throughout the house. He stated that he could do without the sarcasm, and wanted to get to the point. I told him that the sarcasm was better than what I really wanted to say. He advised that a picture was sent to him by one of the movers, but it didn't look like a fresh issue. We would need to post a claim for any damages. At the end of the call, I requested that for future calls, perhaps he not attempt to manage an unsatisfied clients' emotions. Until All My Sons changes their current business practices, seek other reviews and options for your moving needs.
Great crew of 3 that moved everything quickly. They called before they showed up and took time to make sure they knew which pieces were moving. The guys made sure everything was properly padding and wrapped and that it got to it's place in the new house. I've already recommended All My Sons to a couple friends and would definitely use them again!
They were able to fit us in with only a day notice. Very communicative and upfront about every process and expense. The movers themselves were professional and hard working. I could tell they wanted to move everything quicky and safely, not drag it out even though it is a hourly rate. The head office checked in multiple times both before and after the movers arrived to make sure everything running smoothly with no problems. They will bring extra materials for packing, but will only charge for the ones used.
