Keep in mind: THEY FLAUNT A BBB RATING WITHOUT ACTUALLY BEING REGISTERED WITH THEM. Great salesmen who appear to want to work with you. Once the contract was signed and the deposit was made I felt good. Then, a day before they're supposed to arrive, Joseph, the rep working on my move, told me that due to a driver needing personal time off of work, we'd have to reschedule my move by a day. Okay, no big deal. I then receive a call the next day from a different rep who tells me everything is on schedule and that I'll receive a call later in the day with a time frame for the movers to show up the following morning. I got nothing. Come move day. I ask Joseph why nobody has called me, and he says they will soon. Hours pass and I text him again. He says they'll call in a bit. Joseph stops replying. Hours pass, again. I spend more than an hour on the phone with customer service trying to see what's happening, and surprise, the moving truck broke down and that's why dispatch couldn't contact me. Luckily I was able to secure a refund of my initial deposit and will be gladly taking my business elsewhere. Maybe the moving truck broke down, maybe it didn't. Stuff happens. Regardless, I was left hanging for hours before I could reach anybody. Don't go through this company. They'll move your stuff but they aren't reputable or professional. You're on their schedule and make you shell out money up front before giving you the runaround.
They deserved zero stars. My experience with Big Ben’s was terrible. They acted friendly to begin with to get our business. But things turnt for the worst once we paid them most of the money. They provided us with the driver’s phone number to get an ETA on our furniture. The driver wasn’t answering. We called them so they could try calling the driver. They couldn’t even get in contact with him. The manager quoted us one price but when it came to dropping our stuff off the movers were trying to charge us extra. We told them we were on the third floor for both of the places we were moving to and from. Management waived the stairs for the place we were moving from. And charged us for the stairs we were moving to which we agreed to pay. However when our furniture arrived, the movers were trying to charge us extra for stairs which we paid for. We called the supervisor at Big Ben’s to get the situation straightened out, but he wasn’t picking up our calls. He finally answered, yelling saying he was busy with a customer. Then blocked us from calling him. The movers wasn’t moving our stuff to the third floor which we paid for, so the guy dropped of all our furniture in the garage. Not to mention our boxes was damaged coming off the truck and things were broken. Shady company and terrible customer service. I do not recommend.
If I could give them zero stars. These people start to milk money from you after you have a deal with the given quote. They quote us for $1500 over the phone and when the crew came over for pick up, they say $2200 for us for adding extra 5 boxes, which I understand. So we had no choice but to throw away 3 sitter couch, dining table with 3 chairs, 1 office chair, 2 end tables and a car seat which all were counted when they quoted $1500. For 5 extra boxes which were 4 medium and 1 big they charged us extra $700. Again they took 23 days for stuffs to bring it to our new home and before having delivery they ask for extra $350 for using shuttle since the 18 wheelers in which they chose to bring our 450sq ft stuffs into would be too big for our road. We had a talk before when they quoted us about where the belongings is to be dropped, we informed about that it was city and might have to use elevator to bring upstairs. On the phone they wouldn’t mention anything about probable extra charge for using shuttle for 18 wheelers would not be allowed in the city. It was written in a contract about extra charge in paper later we saw I believe rarely people read all those fine prints before they make you sign. After all we payed that extra $350 too and now when belongings came, they were damaged specially kitchen items. Some dishes were broken, some pan leads were bent to not fit now and antique table’s handle was broken as well. Paid all together almost $2400 which is $900 extra dollars than they quoted! So, a big warning to you.. Do not use this company! Its a rip off
PHENOMENAL SERVICE!!! My Husband and I used Big Ben Moving and Storage A Rep named Camron was VERY professional, he had great communication skills during the entire relocation, and was very helpful when it came to questions regarding the move in general. They were very understanding, explained things in detail, and most importantly they handled our stuff with care! They wrapped our fragile items (mirror, glass tops, & etc), they disassembled and reassembled of our furniture, and did an OUTSTANDING job staging the home! They also did an awesome job overseeing everything and delivered the items on time as they promised. When we called to reserved we got luckily he it extended the discount he promised for us. When he quoted us he ensured that this was a WORST CASE SCENARIO as long as we were honest about what we were moving. Once the move was said and done long behold the actual price was EXACTLY what we were originally quoted at. So in our experience with these guys was great, I would give them a 10/10 EVERY-TIME. I would also like to thank the managers Andrew and Mitch for there help throughout the process as well. I would absolutely 100% recommend them to ANYONE else who is in search for a moving company to move their personally belongs across country or simply to state to state. They have made this experience for us the least stressful it could have been, let alone they were as friendly as could be. THANKS GUYS!!!
My move went by so quickly, it was like a dream. The crew from this company handled everything, and they were extremely professional with how they went about their job. I loved it! They gave me the full service package, and it was affordable, as well as flexible enough to accommodate my specific needs. Everyone needs to use this company when they are moving to other states.
