Moving countries, especially the US to Costa Rica is no small matter. After much research we chose Blue Move, and we're very glad we did! We got a 20 foot container and were moving some very unusual stuff, including a 200-pound Purple mattress and seven full size desktop computers. The packers arrived and emptied the entire house, well packed in a few hours. Efficient, excellent packing, clear marking on the boxes describing the contents. I had nine boxes of electronics and each was clearly marked. At the other end, my new home is at the top of a rock/dirt road up a mountain - 12 kilometers of it. Obviously the truck with the container would not make it up but the movers innovated: they sought assistance from construction and 4x4 trucks going up the hill and brought all three thousand pounds up a mountain road that nothing but Jeeps usually travel. It was astounding. Damage? A couple of picture frames had cracked glass. The mattress made it perfectly, all seven computers and 40TB of external hard drives made it undamaged. Not a broken glass, not a cracked plate, not a missing item. My 64" flat screen? Perfect. Amazing. I genuinely did not think everything would make it up, but it did! One of my concerns was Customs. Costa Rican customs opened every single box and package (you can tell - they use special tape to reseal it.) I was expecting to pay about $10,000 in import duty because I brought a lot of new items. Total customs import fee: $1,300. I was stunned. I've moved a lot, around the US and to other countries. Never in my experience, have I seen total professionalism like Blue Move and Allianz before and I would never use another mover if I was to move again. Cost? Absolutely reasonable, cheaper than many others. The office staff was a pleasure and the movers themselves went out of their way to show they cared as much about my possessions as I do. And I'm pretty sure mine is the only Purple 4 mattress in Costa Rica. Bravo Blue Move!!
