Contracted through Colonial Van Lines. Driver showed up late both at pickup and delivery by over three hours. The driver refused to hire helpers with the packing, and it took him 8 hours to pack up a one bedroom apartment. They also claimed my move weighed 5700lbs. However a reweigh at an official CST scale showed a weight of less than 4600. Curious. Lastly, they refused to assemble my furniture. He claimed my brand new apartment had bugs. Strangely enough, I've never seen a single insect inside , nor did the people I hired to come to finish the move in. No bugs sighed at all. Overall, the service was poor, untimely, and unpleasant. Run from these guys. You can rent a truck from Penske, hire guys from Task Rabbit or Moving help, drive yourself, hire guys to unload all cheaper than messing with these guys.

We booked through Budget and Cal Van Lines handled our move. They picked up earlier than expected, but that ended up working perfectly for our move. Sonny was super friendly and everything made it to our new home. The only things that got damaged were a couple of dishes, and I was expecting more than that to be honest because all your stuff is bouncing around in the back of a semi for a week.

This company is full of liars and scumbags! One of their trucks hit my vehicle and once the cops arrived, the drivers lied about what happened and now I am being forced to repair my vehicle out of pocket! The drivers were very unprofessional, do not pay attention while driving, and are completely reckless and careless for anyone else. Take your money elsewhere to a company who actually cares about the public because these people are trash!!! They have 1.5 stars for a reason

First of all - I hired Colonial Van Lines, which is a broker - they outsource the heavy lifting to Cal Van Lines. I moved from CO to NYC the end of August. I was missing 17 boxes, as well as my mother's wheelchair, a mountain bike, a table, and a Dyson vacuum. I was also told that 3 other people in my same truck were missing their items as well. They left the paperwork at my house for the girl that they moved right before me, I called and asked her experience - she said they were bringing furniture and boxes into her home that were not hers. I also have 4 large boxes that belong to other people en route. They are meticulous about doing their inventory and putting stickers on each item - and everyone in the truck has different numbered stickers - so they can definitely see which items belong to a client and remedy the situation if they want to. They just don't want to - they tell you to fill out the liability insurance form - which in no way covers the value of your items. They are incredibly good at the beginning and at collecting your money, but if there is a problem - things go down the drain real fast. I've been in constant contact with both Colonial and Cal Van Lines for over a month now, and I still don't have my mother's wheelchair, or any of my other items for that matter - which are high value items. I'm trying to be patient as they say it, "takes time" to remedy all of this - in the meantime, my mother suffers everyday, and they continue to let these guys accept other jobs so they keep driving across country instead of being able to correct their mistakes. I was unaware that when hiring Colonial Van Lines, that my job would be outsourced to Cal Van Lines - if you are planning on moving across country, make sure to ask a lot of questions and identify your belongings in a way that you and the movers can see exactly what is yours - also - double check that inventory list! You never know what's missing.

I had the best experience! I know Cal Van Lines have received a low rating....but that was not my experience. They were beyond professional. They picked up early & delivered right on time. A big thank you to Dre & Donte...they delivered my furniture in Mississippi & they are 2 top notch professional people. Polite & Courteous! Thank you!
