CAL Van Lines Inc

Contracted through Colonial. Worst company ever. Do Not use them! 7 hours to load 3000 lbs. Didn’t weigh my stuff until 24 hours later. Didn’t reach out to the company who hired them. Going to deliver my stuff later than the due date. No one knows where he currently is. And lastly, thinking he was talking to the other company, he criticized me and was very rude. Update: The movers have arrived. Stated they couldn’t unload the truck in front of my house. Needed to pay an additional $400 for a shuttle. Holding my belongings hostage until I paid. There is no reason why they couldn’t except for being bullies. This is extortion. Admitted to being paid by the hour. Have been here 2 hours and nothing is in my house. Victor the driver is beyond unprofessional. Do not under any circumstances use Cal Van lines.

Good and bad. My move was from Fort Lauderdale to Houston. Colonial Van Lines had net positive reviews so I went with them. The initial scheduling with Colonial was efficient. For whatever reasons my move was contracted to a moving company out of Compton, CA, called Cal Van Lines. Upon arrival, a number of my belongings were damaged or lost: entertainment center was missing brackets to reassemble glass shelves and had a huge dent in it, one of a pair of matching bookcases was so wobbly that I had to replace it, iron/glass table missing, lounge/rocking chair missing head piece. The movers from Cal Van Lines were polite and professional from start to finish, but the job done on the receiving end was unsatisfactory. Colonial Van Lines customer service was good from the start and one of their resolution specialists, Donna Rose, has managed an acceptable resolution for my losses.

Great experience with this company. Shipped from California to Tennessee. I saw the reviews, but I realized people that have successful moves like me do not give them the reviews they deserve, so here it is. I had heavy furniture and the movers did a great job packing it. I did receive my shipment on time
