We are in a moving process that isn't working We are now at day 3, after 2 days of 0acking with overtime for 3 people, and the container for overseas isn't even half loaded with 4 people at 7 pm.... Also we booked this overseas move in February all of the sudden they have not enough people to move the stuff within 3 days..... This is the second experience with them, so yes I would love to give zero stars!
Our move was scheduled for packing in Maryland on July 3 and arrival of goods in California on July 13. Amy Bendel was our contact and the logistics of the move were scheduled between June 22 and June 25. The arrival date is confirmed and we book our plane tickets to arrive on July 12 in California. We have two towels that we lay on the floor to sleep on knowing that it is just a solution for a day or two and that we will get our furniture and belongings soon. We are aware our belongings may arrive a day or two later or sooner, as would be an acceptable amount of wiggle room. On the evening of July 12, having heard nothing from Amy, we assume that our goods will arrive that day and we ask when we should expect them. Amy informs us on July 13 that there was a delay and the goods will arrive on July 19. We are disappointed, but can manage for 6 days. We take a taxi to the store to buy somethings to hold us over (paper cups, paper plates, an air mattress, a new litter box for the cat, and clothes for my husband so that he can go to work). I work from home so I will miss my supplies for a week and will have to work on the floor. We make it through the delay and on July 17 ask what time our belongings will arrive on the 19th. Once again, Amy surprises us with another delay and says our belongings will arrive on July 23. She says the truck had an issue during transit and that was the reason for the delay. So on the first date of estimated delivery, July 13, the belongings are as far away as they were on the day they packed them, July 3. The delay is the length of the entire original estimated trip. We ask what the issue with the truck is and how it can be delayed by 5 days twice, each time 5 days apart. We make more trips out to the stores to buy things we already have. I continue working from the floor, compounding with sleeping on an air mattress with no pillows or blankets, my body is beginning to ache and feel increasingly pained each day. We are furious the delays come as surprises from Amy on days we expect delivery, instead of when they are happening in real time. Upon receiving our email full of disappointment, Amy is confused. She reminds us that the truck that is carrying our things is not exclusive from origin to destination. It stops at different depots to deliver and pick up other shipments en route to California. For some reason, the service we used to ship our car had the same set-up but delivered our car in 6 days. Also, no one else that we know who made the trip from east coast to west coast using a similar service ran into these delays. She tells us that the shipment is leaving Chicago that evening. Chicago is 11 hours from the origin, and not even a third of the way to California. In 16 days, they only managed to move 11 hours. How could we have any faith in the new estimated delivery date? Amy wants us to believe that this is the norm for this type of service. It is not. They bid on a job they were not capable of completing in the time promised. They are so greedy that they want to take on more jobs without buying proper equipment or hiring enough employees. We ask Amy again about the issue she cited with the truck and why it is not getting any closer. A man named Michael Turner replies for Amy. On July 20, we find out from Michael that our household goods weren't even picked up from the warehouse in Maryland until July 13. They had no decency to tell us this while it was happening. Then Michael also informed us that even though our shipment will arrive on July 23, they can't deliver it to us until July 26. I understand how they think this isn't a big deal, they are making money off extra pickups and deliveries en route, but they are doing it at the expence of our health and our wallets. None of their excuses match up and they only tell us lies. Today, July 23, Amy tells us there is still no firm date on when the goods will arrive at the warehouse or be delivered to us.
We have used Champion Move for an international relocation and have been extremely disappointed. Hidden fees - Our movers did not confirm date of delivery initially. When the shipment arrived and we weren't available to receive the delivery, the assigned agent - Jessica sent an email to let us know that we will be charged additional storage fees. Poor service - We had two shipments which arrived separately. The instructions provided by us is to have both moved to a storage space which the size was confirmed by our Champion agent. However the moves did not stack the first shipment, therefore when the 2nd shipment arrived, the items did not fit and the crew refused to restack the orginal shipment items. When I emailed my agent to file a complaint, she did not respond. We had a poor experience with this moving company and would not recommend them.
