Review:

I recently moved from Austin, Texas to LA in California and Compass made my move 100x easier and less stressful. Out of the 4 moving businesses that I talked to Compass was the best fit for me. They were very flexible with my schedule and worked with me throughout the whole process. Their workers carefully and gently wrapped everything in our house within a time frame of 4 hours. Anything I asked them to put in a certain place or spot they did without any questions asked. The move was very quick, smooth, and faster than I thought it would be. I had no problems with their workers or company. They treated me with great care. I well definitely tell my closest family and friends about this company or anyone in general. Highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you Compass for everything!

So far, these guys have been stellar. The owner came to our house personally to do the the inventory review and we thought the quote was fair. The moving crew is very friendly and professional -- Anthony, Brent, and Leo are great guys. I think it's really important to treat people with whom you are engaging with on such a personal level (your stuff, your life, your move) with respect, and they return the respect. We've got a ways to go, of course, but I am appreciative of these folks and can commend them highly.

The move was a mixed experience. The great news is that everything except one lamp arrived in good condition, including our electronics. This was also the best price we were quoted. I had heard that some moving companies demand more payment than was estimated on delivery, but this was not the case. There was a $100 "long carry" fee at the end because our apartment was more than 75 feet away from where the truck could park, but they were up front about that and we knew it was a possibility. On the negative side, the paperwork was kind of a mess. The inventory of boxes that went on the truck was not correct, although the total number of items was. We were not missing anything, but it made checking it more difficult. During the move, it was difficult to get in touch with anyone in the main office to check in. Finally, our stuff arrived fifteen days after our date of first acceptance (the contract said it would be 14 if there were no exceptional circumstances). On the whole, I feel like they did the job we paid them for. I wish I had known it would take as long as it did. I was happy that everything arrived intact.
