Don Hemsteds Van & Storage

Hemsted's started out great, they helped us get my dad's home packed and that was a miracle by itself because my dad's home and 6 car garage had so much stuff. All the guys that packed us up were awesome.Bob has move my dad two other times and always done a great job. And Shelly in the office was kind with setting up dates and times us to receive our property. But when we did received our belonging at our new home it was another story. 406 movers from here in Montana were great with the unloading of the moving van! The problem came when we started unpacking. I had two brand new KARGO soft dog carries that were ruined from moisture, they're covered in mildew. I had a box of books that are also moisture damaged as well as a few other items. My belongings were pack by my husband and me but when we started unpacking we found things of my dad's in our belongings. This was odd because we had our property in storage for over four months in a separate facility. We also found many things of our packed in with my dad's things. We also have many things missing. I had a collection of over thirty antique glass insulators that I've never found for on. To say we're are disappointed is an understatement. Our property was in storage with Hemsteads for six months, until we found a home in our new state, but this doesn't excuse these things. We paid a lot of money for their service. Oh and we could tell the van had been unloaded and repacked prior to arriving at our new home, something I was told they don't due. "Once it's loaded we don't unpack it until it's at your home". After this I am hesitant to give a good recommendation. Oh and also our "guaranteed" price was changed. When I questioned this Bob got quite short with me. Oh well, we will not be moving again in this lifetime, thankfully.

They took care of my move from Antioch to Redding back in 2005. They kept everything in storage for me until 2007 when I was able to purchase my home & have everything delivered. Things that they'd needed to dismantle in Antioch they put back together 2 years later. I think there was only 1 thing broken, but it was due to my packing not theirs. I'll definitely be contacting them the next time I make a move.

Five years of wonderful service, even when the impossible (because of tight scheduling) was asked. Prompt, courteous, helpful service. Ignore rough language if you hear it. Hearts of gold!
