Review:

Moving was a nightmare from end to end. Energy first picked my stuff up in Philadelphia. It took three movers over four hours to move my thing from a 10x10 storage unit into the truck, boxes that were already packed. Then the foreman told me it’s customary to tip 20% of the whole move to their team. So the recommendation was for me to give them an $800 tip on pick up understanding a different team would be picking my stuff up. The next day after pickup I got a call from the office. The person who called me was incredibly rude and was yelling at me for neglecting to sign something on their form at pickup. Mind you the foreman had pointed out to me each place that needed signature. They said they needed this to process payment, they had already processed payment. Before my things were picked up I let the dispatch team know that I couldn’t get into my new apartment until After 3pm that Thursday. I got a call at 1 pm on Thursday saying they were a half hour away. Since I was still two hours away on my drive down and didn’t even have keys to the apartment yet I told them that wouldn’t work. They said it would be a $150 charge to keep my stuff on the truck until I got there. At the beginning of this whole move I let the broker know that I wanted to charge the entire move to a credit card since I was being reimbursed by my new company. On the day of delivery the foreman called to tell me I needed $2k in cash on delivery or they wouldn’t drop my things off. Also he told me to make sure that I take out enough cash to leave them a good tip. Called back a second time to make sure I had plenty of cash for a good tip. When the movers arrived they didn’t have any tools with them to put back together any of the furniture that they had taken apart. So they left me everything in parts, I’ve since had to hire a handy man to finish the job so pile that on top of an already expensive move. One of the three movers chain smoked in my doorway for the two hours that they unpacked the truck, they also delivered a few things that weren’t mine. The foreman got annoyed with me at several points and kept aggressively telling me he didn’t have tools and can’t do anything about it. I wasn’t even asking at any point for him to do anything, I honestly sat quietly because I just wanted it to end. Weeks later I have noticed several things missing. A dining room chair, which seems like it would be hard to lose. And at least 6 items of clothing, not sure if they missed a whole box or what. I wouldn’t be surprised if some other family in Florida has my stuff sitting in their house given I nearly had other people’s stuff in mine. This was a horrific experience and it took me a month to even write a review because it has taken that long to digest how truly awful this company was at all touch points. I can’t understand how they are in business and it’s no surprise to me that they’re not registered with the BBB because I’m confident they’d lose that accreditation in a heartbeat. Not holding my breath to see my stuff again anytime soon because they truly don’t care.

Daniel and Marvin helped my daughter pick up get stuff in the panhandle and bring it to Tampa! The pick up was a breeze! They did not charge extra fees, they were polite, professional, and worked diligently. My daughter lived on the third floor and they moved all of her stuff in the Florida heat! They were contracted by Purple Heart moving group. Overall a good experience with this group!

This entire experience was horrifying. We thought we were hiring a professional moving company but instead we got what we consider the moving mafia. The company we initially called was 1st United Moving and Storage. We didn’t know they were brokers. They subcontracted our move to Energy Moving and Storage out of Fort Lauderdale Fl. The guys that showed up were were over 2 hours late then messed around until almost 8pm. They started packing the truck then took a break at 930 till around 11. Then they discovered that the truck was to small. Of course it was our fault so they tacked on another $600. The driver said he needs to get another truck so the next day they showed up and took the rest of ours stuff. It was like pulling teeth to get our furniture delivered. When they delivered our furniture it was a mess. Several pieces were destroyed and the ones that weren’t destroyed were severely damaged. Also several boxes still missing and a 9 foot surfboard. If you are considering this company just throw your stuff out of a 2 story window, let it sit there for a few days in the weather and if you’re lucky your furniture will be in the same shape when you get it off the truck. Stay as far away from these 2 companies as you can. You will be better off moving yourself.
