Guardian Moving and Storage

I wish I could give this zero stars. Literally the worst experience EVER. Richard came to give moving estimate prior to our move, and said it would take 3 movers and one truck. Moving day came, we had given a large portion of furniture away from estimate time, and movers showed up 2 hours late. They got to house and one mover talked about how hungover he was and didn’t do anything the entire time. He ended up quitting in the middle of the job. Richard promised all movers worked for the company, however this specific mover picked up the job on Craig’s list the night before. Total lies. When confronted, Richard explained that he had worked for them for a while. ANOTHER lie. My entire family ended up coming over to house and filling their entire SUVs and trucks and helped movers. Even still, we didn’t leave old house until 9:30 to start unloading at new house. When getting to new house, my entire family (10 people) helped unload the moving truck and didn’t finish until 2 am. Guardian movers came back the next day to finish moving out of old house and reassembling furniture at new house. They even tried to fight about assembling furniture after promising this to us. When finished, we found a massive 1 foot chunk out of our nice hardwood bed frame, and a 2 foot gauge out of our wood floors. When called to file damage claim, Richard had the nerve to talk about how horrible my husband and family were during the moving process... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? The only thing this company should have done was be apologizing for the HORRIFYING experience. YES, we still had to pay for the move, and YES, we only got $250 after fighting for the damages. This entire process was a complete nightmare and I would do nothing but tell you to NEVER EVER use this terrible company. Horrible work ethic, horrible customer service, HORRIBLE EVERYTHING.

The crew they sent today was amazing!! Hands down the best I’ve worked with. Richard Jared and James made my day! They were professional, friendly and definitely hard working. If you are looking to hire someone to help you move, this is the company. Worth every but. Peace of mind with these guys. Wow! Thank you so much!

Today, I received two PODS that had been packed in Jacksonville FL (NOT by Guardian Moving and Storage). Since I hadn't been very impressed by the loading crew, I wanted to see how things got here. I opened the first POD, and though some things had shifted, I saw no signs of damage. So I closed the POD and went to the other one. Unfortunately, I could only open it about two inches. I called PODS, then Moving Staffers (who provided the loaders in Jacksonville and the unloaders in San Antonio). Kept getting sent to someone else. Can you say frustrated? Yep, that was me. Then I got a call from Richard from Guardian Moving. He told me he'd stop by this evening and see what we could do. He was a bulldog with the problem, it appears the loaders in Jacksonville didn't properly tie down the load, so it shifted in transit. A large piece got lodged under the roll-up door, and wouldn't let it rise above 8 inches. Richard reached in and moved stuff around inside the POD until he could get inside, and moved stuff around to allow him to move the large piece that was causing the problem (after almost an hour of struggling to make room inside the packed POD). He was determined to make it work. He's fantastic! I'm excited to see how the other members of his team perform tomorrow, when they come to empty the PODS!

Richard and Jared are amazing!!! We had them scheduled to unpack a POD for us, but when the POD was delivered the door wouldn’t open. Our original movers had packed it incorrectly. Richard said “ no worries” to that and came on time, got the door open, unpacked all our heavy and fragile items with care and professionalism. They really work great as a team. I’m definitely keeping them on speed dial for future moving or heavy lifting projects. Thank you gentlemen!!!

Is it possible to have fun moving? With this team you do. Great team! Jared , Richard and Justin were polite, on time and hard working. Very professional with the move and helped me with taking pictures of items that were packed incorrectly from previous movers. I wish I had them in Phoenix. Thank you!
