Moved my daughter from a 2 bedroom apartment in Texas to North Carolina. Packing, moving, and delivery were very professional. Everything was itemized. Everything was unloaded in good condition.
Where to begin? I moved approximately 10,000 lbs of belongings from the Valley to Houston. When the agent came to do the survey, I asked for packing AND unpacking. This is important later. I was told I would need two packing days. The day before they called and said they would only come one day, but send a crew of 4. 2 people showed up for the entire day until much later in the day, when 2 more showed up when there was hardly anything left to pack. The next day was loading day. They said they'd be there at 9:30 a.m. They didn't show up until after 12, again with only two people. Two more eventually showed up, about 2 hours in. I was initially told there would be two trucks, but of course only one showed up. They tried to fit everything on the one truck, and when they realized it wouldn't all fit (at about 5 in the afternoon), they finally sent another truck. That truck didn't show up until after 6. The following day was delivery day. I messaged Pascual, whose job is basically to tell you everything is going to be OK, to ask when I should expect delivery. He said the afternoon, but that the items from the second truck wouldn't be here until the following day. The first load arrived more or less when they said they would, but again with only two people at first. Additional crew showed up about an hour later. Remember the bit about unpacking? Yeah, the delivery guys tried to say they were just going to unload everything and put the beds together. I eventually got ahold of Pascual who said that they "don't usually do unpacking" and offered to do the kitchen unpack, but not put anything away, and to unpack the wardrobe boxes, but again, not actually put anything away. By now, you've surely figured out that they didn't unpack everything they said they would. This is to say nothing at all about some broken and potentially missing items. I don't know if they're missing or not, because I'm still unpacking. The following day, I again messaged Pascual and asked when I should expect the final portion of my delivery. I was told "3 ish". They did not arrive until 6:30. And the cherry on top? When they hooked up the washing machine, they didn't insert the drain hose, so our first load of laundry flooded the laundry room, kitchen, and down the hallway. Run away. Run far, FAR away. Do it yourself, or literally hire anyone else. This company does not do what they promise, they will be late, and they seem completely disorganized and unprofessional. 0/10, would not move with this company again.
I am very disappointment regarding my overall moving experience with Gulf Moving Systems. They assured me that my move would be very easy for them with the minimal items that I had. When they arrived at my new apartment, I saw that my night stand and mirror were broken and that they lost my chair. I also opened a box and noticed that it was not mine. I told them that I believed it belonged to the person who’s items were also in the shared moving truck. I asked them to please make sure she got it and to see if she might have my chair. They told me that my chair never got on the truck in the first place. They had no labeling system for any of the boxes and asked me if random things in the truck, such as a ladder, was mine - which it wasn’t. I submitted a claim for my lost and broken items and called them to follow up, but they never got back to me. I was very disappointed with how they treated my items during the move and with the overall experience. I would not recommend this moving company.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I have moved 5 times in the last 12 years, and this one was by far the worst! Showed up to pack 2 hours late. Didnt finishing packing, said they were coming back the next morning at 8am to finish packing. NEVER CAME BACK! Then the loading team showed up, complained the whole time about having to pack. So my wife and kids ended up just packing ourselves while they complained. Showed up 7 HOURS LATE! to unload the truck at our new house. Broke a ton of stuff, broke a desk, broke pictures, broke a bed, broke the sleep number, broke, elipitcal, broke the lateral trainer, broke book shelves, and broke my Big Green Egg. Scratched up my hickory flooring all over. Jacked up the paint all over my walls. Gashed the walls on the stair case. Stole my sons Nintendo Switch. Didnt finish until 3am because they showed up so damn late, and left a HUGE MESS for us to clean up. I am SO glad I paid with my Visa, as it protects me against fraud and breach of contracts. Unless you want half your stuff damaged, missing, and broken, you better go find another company. You showed up HOURS late, scratched the heck out of my flooring, and stayed late because you did NOTHING right! Broke everything that could be broken. So yes. TERRIBLE SERVICE. NOTHING but excuses. If you couldnt handle the EXTRA business I gave you, then just turn it down! Only business I have ever seen complain about being referred extra business. You did me no favors on doing NOTHING right. From the get go you half packed my house! I packed the rest myself. Trust me if you showed up on time, I would have thrown yall out on time. But instead you showed up 8 hours late, and tried to sneak off leaving everything undone. It wasnt until I refused to sign that they half ass put everything together.
