1yr later and still discovering damage & missing items Even though Jackie Movers refunded us %25 of their moving fee due to damages caused by them, we are dissatisfied still at discovering damaged items/furniture and missing items as we’ve been remodeling and emptying out boxes slowly. I’ve hired professional movers 4 times within the last 8 years including moving to Las Vegas from California. We have observed how a truly professional moving team really works. Although Jackie Movers have generally good reviews and advertise themselves as professional “full service” movers, our experience with them was clearly contradictory. MOVERS · not professionally trained to lift, move, care, protect furniture/items · inconsiderate leaving trash in front yard and drive way · did not know how to properly disassemble/assemble requested furniture and appliances. I requested they just leave things disassembled at that point. · movers were irritated with our every request PACKING · brought too small of a truck for size of job · did not have specialized moving equipment: appliance/furniture harnesses, mattress moving straps, only hand trucks and furniture dollies · no organization in packing of truck; items/furniture just piled on top of each other · no appropriate protection of items; many furniture pieces were scratched, chipped and cracked. Did not use moving blankets they had! MOVING · loading pace was noticeably slow compared to other moving companies · move required two trips because truck used was too small · movers went to lunch between trips without informing us · total move took 9 hours, realistic pace should have been 4-6 hours; Jackie Movers agreed with me on this and reduced my billed move time to 6 hrs · several items were missing on move. Jackie Movers rep had to return them to us later. · other peoples’ items, from previous move, were left in our garage! 1 YEAR LATER · still discovering items scratched, dented, cracked, · Items missing If you are looking for true professional movers I’d advise you to go somewhere else. We’ve had many expensive furniture pieces and appliances damaged by them. They are clearly not what they advertise to be! It’s barely one step up from hiring day workers.
Can't give enough praise on how awesome Jackie Movers are! First, they are very accommodating and was able to schedule me very last minute; Second, they are very affordable and there's not a bunch of hidden fees etc.; Third; the movers are very professional, fast, hard working, and nice! Edgar and Co-worker (can't remember his name), were AMAZING! Def will use them again and def will recommend Jackie's movers!
I have to say, this was an extremely disappointing move that really shouldn't have taken longer than 2hrs, one bed from a storage unit, to Menlo Park, then a a bed from Menlo Park to San Francisco. We chose this company because they had the lowest minimum hours which was 2 hrs but they move really slow. The first thing was that they were late by half an hour, since we were the first customers of the day, they really shouldn't have been late, but it would have been nice to have an open line of communication where they tell us they would be late, called the company multiple times, a lady answered and on two occasions that my call did go through and she answered, I never had any follow up...this was unacceptable for customer service (other times, my call went straight to voicemail). We also did some of the heavy lifting ourselves before the agreed meet up time, moving the mattress and metal frame from the storage unit to the front of the storage facility where they met us to help speed up the moving process. From the storage unit, they took the long route down south then back north, they might have been avoiding toll but I would have gladly had them charge me an extra $6 to avoid the extra 25 minutes they took because of the route. TWO BEDS (nothing else, no boxes or anything else) were moved total and the move took 3.75 hrs (BASICALLY FOUR HOURS), and there was barely any traffic except at the end but that probably added an extra 10 minutes (not much). There was one guy that kept going back to the truck and tidying up the truck, not sure why I should be paying for that since its not really apart of our actual move. Again there was one bed and frame with a base. We checked in every so often to see the progress during the disassembly and assembly of the bed, the progress was slow each time we checked. Though we believe the movers worked their hardest, they were slow and inefficient, the poor communication with the office also did not help. I would not recommend using this company in the future. We were able to get a small half hour refund due to the wrong route that was taken but truly, this move shouldn't have taken so long.
