Review:

Best movers I have ever had. I moved a few times in the last 15 years. This one was the biggest. I had bad experiences in the past and I am always a little worried when hiring movers. My initial interaction with booking was easy and transparent. On day of my move all the gentleman had high energy and very communicative about each step, and very friendly. I was extremely pleased with the service and plan on recommending them to all my friends and family.

Review:

The team helped us move our hot tub across country (Chicago to LasVegas). They were very courteous, friendly and professional. A special thank you to Jacquelin, who was so very friendly on every call and ensured everything was explained. A great big thank you to the entire Johnny On The Move team for helping us during this stressful time. If you are moving a hot tub next door or the next state over I highly recommend this team.

Review:

I have moved over a half a dozen times in my life. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. I should have suspected as much when they were able to book my move within a few days, and they gave me an estimate that was considerably less than the competitors. I learned my lesson the hard way! Here's the sequence of events. Please learn from my experience and never, never choose this awful, low rate company. They are professional scammers: 1. I set up my services and received confirmation of a deposit for 50 dollars charged to my credit card for booking the services. No other instructions were sent to me via text or mail until the evening before the move. 2. The evening before the move, I received a confirmation email for the services, including confirmation on the rate for four movers and instructions about the need to pay cash and that payment would be due before the truck was unloaded. I have to say that this was never communicated to me ahead of time and if I had known, I would have considered a second opinion at the time of the booking. Who pays for a service before the job is completed? Only somebody who is planning to scam you, that's for sure! 3. The movers showed up on time, but only with three movers instead of 4. I was notified that the rate "would be adjusted." You have to realize, however, that this significantly slowed down the process, as you had only two people loading for the first 3 hours and one person doing the unassembling of the furniture. The fourth person showed up 3 hours later, and then the "4-person" rate started counting at that point according to the foreman. 4. When we arrived at the destination, I proceeded to pay $1060 (it was $1057, but he had no change) after the foreman gave me his estimate of time. I knew they were going to go over because it was only the foreman assembling things back together (that he personally chose to unassembled completely). I still don't understand why he had to take a dining table entirely apart. He then didn't even know how to put back together, and it took him twice as long, causing damage to the legs of my very fine dining table. He also chose to take down apart an Ikea sofa totally, when it was probably not necessary to do so, and he was unable to put it back together. 5. Of note, I was helping the whole time, taking down the padding, moving boxes around, etc., trying to expedite the process. 6. As I realize that things were going to go over the estimated time I was given (4:15 pm), I decided to head over to the ATM to get more cash for the balance due and for tips to the crew. The foreman told me he calculated just another half hour and that "I had to pay for that half hour right then and there." I explained that I was going to the ATM and he became insulting and he said that if I didn't pay right there and then for the extra half hour, he would have to stop working. I told him that I didn't have money, so he proceeded to unload the rest of my belonging and just left him at the curve. He refused to assemble the remaining Ikea sofa, they did not unpack the TV; they did not move the remaining boxes to the corresponding places or even dispose of the trash. 7. I contacted the owner by email and by phone. I called multiple times for several weeks and never got a response. I requested a copy of my signed contract and never got a response. 8. I have read other reviews and realized they have a similar modus operandi. They request to get paid in advance, and if the job goes over the estimated time and there is no more cash to pay in advance, they leave the job unfinished. They don't let you run to the ATM, pay with check or with credit card. However, none of this is explained ahead of time. The furniture is not well cared for. They are rude, and they do not respond when you attempt to contact them. They should be put out of business. I have already filed a complained to the consumer's bureau.
