My apologies to majestic in Virginia. I received a request to rate (through maps) and didn't check to ensure correct place. I used company in Florida, had bad experience but not the company in Virginia. Not sure why i received a request to rate since i didn't use that company. Thanks for pointing that out.
I used Majestic for two moves recently. The first time, the movers were hard-working and careful, so I decided to use them again for my second, bigger move. Unfortunately, the movers had difficulty with a heavy item and damaged my hardwood floors. I gave Majestic the opportunity to make the situation right over a two week period, but the company did not accept responsibility for the damage, which is now costing me considerably more than the cost of the move. Note that their website doesn't even include a business address, just a post office box. UPDATE: 12.13.19 - I was awarded a judgment against Majestic in the local small claims court. Based on my experience with them, I suggest that you consider hiring another company that actually has a street address rather than a post office box.
Overall Majestic Moving and storage has done just ok with my military move. I will update this post with more information when they complete the move. PROS - They packed up my household goods on time - They were professional CONS - Communication with majestic could be improved. Majestic has been ok at communicating, but I have had to initiate most of the conversations. Moreover, communication from the TSP (tier one relocation) is not good and doing Majestic a disservice. - Inability to relocate my goods in a timely manner. After taking possession of my household goods in MD, Majestic has yet to transport them to the destination area within 30 days in OH. In my many moves, I've never witnessed a moving company hold onto household goods at origin for so long. My only hope is this is part of their strategy to ensure less people 'touch' the household good which will reduce the risk of damage. Time will tell.
Movers were careful, knowledgeable and knew how to pack difficult items. They came prepared and asked questions when in doubt. They were also done on time. They did underestimate my quote which came to $120 more due using more material than expected. Phone customer service was friendly and courteous as well. I would use them again.
This is the most terrible company I have ever seen. We are at 99 days since they picked up our belongings, 69 business days and we have no idea where are things are and all they ever tell you if you can even get through is they will check with dispatch and call you back and they have not called us back one, ever! They have lots of shell company names. Be sure to go to the physical address, the addresses on the internet are fake. I've talked with people who have paid and all of their things are missing too and they can't get any help either.
