Our stuff was here in “climate controlled” temporary storage for 2 months during a military move. When it was time to move my house hold goods they discovered there was a leak in a crate and many molded items. Instead of taking care of it and notifying me- they let the movers “wipe it off” and put it on the truck with the rest of my household goods. Now, everything I own has been contaminated. No one has offered to help other than a quick claim for two items - which we denied. No apology or any other compensation for this huge headache. I would never recommend this place. Also, the movers did not pack things appropriately, I have countless broken items. They didn’t even wrap my plates. My white couch was wrapped- but the white oversized chair was not. Every part of my baby nursery is destroyed. Do not let the military use this place for your move.
On a scale of 1-5, where 5 is the best: Timeliness: 2 Courtesy: 2 Professionalism: 3 Responsiveness: 3 This was my 4th HHG PCS with the Navy and North Park Transfer and Storage has been the most difficult moving company I have coordinated with. I had a designated pack up day of Monday the 25th of November and a move out day of Wednesday the 27th of November. There was a lot of coordination required to ensure I was free from work at the squadron and also coordinating with my apartment complex to allow me to move out on a specific day (I have to pay out of pocket $150 to reserve a moving elevator with pads installed and someone has to sit in the parking garage to monitor the continuously open door). On the day of pack up, Monday the 25th at 1000 I received a call from Christina saying they would not be able to make it that day because one of their packers was sick from the weekend. This was very short notice. She proposed pack up and move out for Wednesday the 27th between 0800-1200. I said that worked better anyways because of work etc. This resulted in further reservation changes with the apartment complex; the only concern I had now was that they needed to complete pack and move out within a 3 hour window, or the apartment complex would charge me an overtime fee of $100 for every hour after 3 hours. Fast forward to Wednesday I don't receive a phone call in the morning (or any time prior) so I reach out and Cristina around 1000 and she tells me they had to take care of another move and would be at my place by 1100. Seems weird after all of the changes from Monday that I wouldn’t be the priority pack up (since my original pack up date was Monday). I ended up having to call the apartment complex manager to request a last minute shift in the time so I wouldn’t be charged overtime fees. Luckily he was able to move the times between two other moves that were occurring. Cristina’s lack of communication and empathy regarding these coordination struggles was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. During move out it was raining and the truck had a steady roof leak causing water to seep onto my belongings. I took a video of this as proof. Finally delivery took two weeks from start to finish with zero communication from the company. I would call for updated delivery days and every time I called the date would shift further and further right. I slept on the floor in a sleeping bag for a week Bc I couldn’t justify paying rent and hotel fees. Finally, they were 2 hours late from their promised delivery time on the delivery day. I still physically assisted move out and move in and bought the crew pizza and Gatorade and tipped them fairly, because it’s the right thing to do. Why can’t that be the same perspective for this company?
what a wonderful job these guys did on my move very well experinced crew i was worried it was my first move but they quickly took my worry away definitely going to use these guys next time
Horrible experience. They were late, carried a large portion of our things on the OUTSIDE of their truck across the country and it got soaking wet, lost 11 boxes of things as well as furniture and luggage, charged us $1000 more than promised, and, even though we purchased their highest level of insurance, now they are giving us the runaround. Not even a word of apology or trying to make it right!
Very disappointed in this company. They came late, charged us $1000 more than they quoted us, and worst of all, They lost 11 boxes of our things as well as furniture and luggage. They carried our mattresses OUTSIDE the truck and our pillow top king mattress was soaking wet when they arrived. We purchased the highest level of insurance they offered at the start of the move. We filed a claim within the allotted time and, after repeated attempts to contact them, finally just heard back that they require receipts of all missing items. We have the inventory receipt stating that they lost 11 boxes!! Not so much as an apology for losing and damaging so many of our personal belongings - and now they are giving us the runaround!
