Provident Moving

I used provident moving a few months ago to move within new jersey. I chose them because their initial estimate was among the lower ones and also it was closer to my location. This is probably the most dishonest business I have come across. Once the items were loaded into the truck, the person in charge came to speak to me about the cost. His bill was more than 4 times the initial estimate. I expected them to inflate the bill and I was ready for maybe twice the estimate, but their bill was simply ridiculous. They had put cost of packing material etc which they apparently used to pack items which had already been packed by me. They simply put some random numbers and added additional hours etc and came up with this humongous bill. Since it was a one time move, I sucked up and agreed to pay them 3 times the original estimate. But I would like to put in a good word for them, so that other customers are not cheated. Please think twice before employing them for any moves. They employ the age old tactic of quoting low and then holding your items hostage to get as much money as they can. I have moved twice that distance with other overs at a cost lower than what I paid to provident movers.

I have moved several times and I used friends/family. It was always a hassle and things were broken. It was just stressful. I decided this time I was going with a professional and that is exactly what I received . The three young men that came were absolutely the most professional and kind and thorough and just a true pleasure to do business with. It was ugly weather and this was hard personal move for me and they made it so pleasurable and easy. The gentleman that I spoke with at office was also so very accommodating. I had concerns about my time slot due to the plans of inclement weather. He changed my originally scheduled time short it with no problem. I would recommend Provident Moving,over and over again. Shady movers. I would not recommend you use their services. The owner will tell you all the things you want to hear and on your move day you will find out the hard way that it was not true. First, I was under the impression that the estimate they give you would be realistic. Halfway through the move they told me it would cost DOUBLE to $1600 CASH. Second, they claim they fumigate their blankets and trucks to prevent bed bugs and the blankets would be sealed in plastic- they were NOT. The foreman (who was supposed to be actually moving our items) was folding the blankets and taping them together for their next victims in the middle of our move. They added on fees for diesel surcharge, taxes, tolls, long carry, packing materials, etc etc etc. In the end we told them to just unload our stuff off of their truck and we had to re-assemble everything ourselves (many things they reassembled unnecessarily to waste materials, time/labor to increase costs). I had to chase them outside and beg them to bring our mattress upstairs because they just left it in the foyer. Overall a horrible, stressful unprofessional experience. Look elsewhere for more reputable movers. They will refuse to unload your items off their truck if you don't give them money before they finish the job. They claim they take credit card but system happens to be down- unless you cancel their services in advance. All around unscrupulous and will try and gauge you for more money on move day. Not something you want to deal with.

Do not fall in to the trap. they are worst mover. they gave us estimate of $875 and after loading truck charge us more then the double the money. actually they ask for $1975 but I refuse and paid $1800 (cash). which I have to borrow from my daughter and look every where to come up of this kind of cash. they threaten us that if we don't pay they will take our stuff. Unnecessarily they disassembled every furniture and wrap it with blanket and cardboard. to protect so material cost triple and man hours double. this is worst ever experience I ever had. I told them not to do it but they insist to do so they can put their extorted plot on me. I fall in to the trap. they had plan and exactly knew what they where doing. we did not add any thing we show they everything.. I learn hard way. please be careful.

Provident Moving was fantastic. They were friendly and informative when I inquired about their services. When I told them I was a referred by a friend they made sure to point out that they were giving me a 10% discount. The owner himself, confirmed my reservation 2 days before my move and made sure I had everything I needed for packing. On moving day, jack and his team showed up with friendly faces and moved everything from my one bedroom apartment to my other apartment in just 4 hours. They were timely, friendly, and cost effective. They completed the job without anything being damaged or broken. My landlord had new wood floors installed and they took that into consideration when moving things around. I would definitely recommend Provident to anyone. And when I move again I know who to call.
