Reliance Moving & Storage Customer Reviews

Review:

We had a poor experience. They did not come on time any of the three days that we used them. They only sent one person on the first day to pack the entire home. The second day, only one person came until later in the afternoon, when a few more crew members showed up. They spilled water in three different places on the carpet and on a wooden chest of drawers. They forgot to check closets and drawers full of clothes and belongings. They missed a full cupboard in the kitchen. They forgot to close several boxes. The packers were all courteous and friendly, but the receptionists on the phone were cold, unhelpful, and unable to answer questions about timelines or expectations. The company was coordinated for us as part of our military move.

I really hate to give this company a 1 star but they didn't have the option of rating less than zero. Customer service is infuriating, disorganized, and liars. If you have an appointment for a survey be ready to wait all day and not have them show up, then randomly call another day and say they'll be there in 10 minutes. If you have a life and appointments or need to leave your home don't use this joke of a company because your time is of no value to them. Expect to wait around and chase them with multiple phone calls. We were given 4 days to pack and load. More than 1 employee gave us the schedule and reiterated that our load up would begin on the 3rd day and that they would finish on the 4th day. Well here it is our 3rd day and we waited for a truck to come. We finally called the office and they said that nobody is coming today and that they'll be here tomorrow. We have many items that require special packing. 2 employees took inventory of those items, which is why they told us we had 2 loading days. The 4th day was a buffer in case they could not load in 1 day. Our house is sold and we don't have another day to give them if they can't load in one day. I'm expecting my irreplaceable items to not be handled properly and I'm 99% sure my belongings will not arrive at our next home unscathed. Especially because we complained. We're a military family that has moved often so we do have comparisons. Thank you to the government for picking the lowest bidders to perform our move. I will say that the 3 ladies that came the first 2 days to do the packing were pleasant and efficient. The problems seem to stem from the administrative side....so far. If you have a choice (as opposed to the military just telling you who's moving you) DO NOT CHOOSE RELIANCE! Save yourself the frustration. 2019 Update: 95 % of our furniture was damaged. A year later and we're still fighting to get our claim (military) processed because we are still finding damage and can't even finish unpacking because most of our furniture was damaged and or missing pieces, like the keys (that I taped on the back of furniture, watched get wrapped up and leave the house....and was unwrapped in their storage). We have irreplaceable antiques and European furniture that are trash. EVERY high dollar item that needed special handling was damaged. Blatantly! They fudged inventory stickers and lists, unwrapped furniture that left our home wrapped in the warehouse, and instructed the following company that came to collect our belongings from storage to lie about damage. There is just waaay too much to list here. This place is AWFUL! We're working our way up the chain of command because this company should never be allowed to move another military family's household. They should not be in business to move anybody! After 26 years in the service and many moves, including overseas, this is BY FAR the worst move we've had.....and that is saying something.

Used this company with a military move. Very friendly and professional. They take their time wrapping up your items. The driver (Curt) was super friendly, and personally drove my items from VA to GA. I will use this company in the future.

The pre-load guy came and told me that they would pack on Monday and Tuesday and load on Wednesday. They sent one lady on Monday to pack a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath home. She came at noon and left at 4. That lady said she would be there at 7:30 a.m. the next day to start. She showed up after 9 with one other man. They packed until about 4 when she left and 4 other people showed up. They had to finish on Wednesday and the load out took until after 7 pm. I had to move the carpet cleaning appointment twice and reschedule the walkthru for the next day. They also had to call another truck since my shipment was on a truck with someone else's they had to put some things on a second truck and it is now 4 days over the delivery date with, from what they tell me will be another week. Needless to say the military certainly picked the lowest bidder here. On a side note all of the packers and the driver were professional and nice....no complaints about them at all.

Avoid this company if you can! I traveled from Atlanta to assist my parents moving into a senior living home. The movers were scheduled well in advance and as recent as the day before confirmed they would be there but they did not show up. Several calls indicated they would try to make it the next day - again no show (or call) & they began avoiding our calls to them. One star is more than they deserve - think twice before you make your plans counting on them!
