Sound Moving & Storage

I want to give Sound Moving & Storage five stars because they went out of their way to help me move. However, I had previously discussed with Darren, on two different occasions, that we were only going to be charged their hourly rate for two movers and a truck, with no additional fees, which Darren confirmed was correct. On the day of the move, I see three guys show up, who were all super helpful. Darren and I never discussed having three guys, so I figured the third guy would be included in the standard two men rate. However, this was not the case. Once the bill was written up, I see that I was charged at the rate for three movers, instead of the agreed two. Frustrated, I called and talked to Darren about this. However, he refused to fix the additional charge and said there was nothing he could do. Darren, as a business, I understand you need to make money, but this is not how you do things. It’s crucial to discuss with your customers exactly what they are getting, and you cannot just throw an extra helper in with the expectations that your customer will pay the additional charge. That is not how you do business.

I almost don't want to write my review because I don't want the secret to get out about how great this place is. They have the best pricing in town, and are super accommodating! Really nice staff too!

I’m giving 3 stars because the two guys who came to load our shipping container were excellent - professional, courteous, and thorough. However, we had scheduled and confirmed having two movers come on Friday at noon for 4 hours. At 12:20 when they weren’t there yet I called and was told we weren’t on their schedule for the day. Darren told me I hadn’t scheduled with them, but when I asserted that we had and I had the emails to prove it he accepted that he had messed up, but didn’t have any movers to do the job. That left us in a major bind because we had to be out of the house the next day. I had to be really firm to get Darren to try to find someone to do the job, he didn’t offer. He did eventually find two guys to come on Saturday morning on their day off, so the wonderful helpers we had were working on their day off to cover Darren’s mistake. We were rushing to get out of our house on time on Saturday and it was so stressful when it shouldn’t have been if Sound hadn’t messed up.

The first time I used sound and truck moving they did a great job the two guys worked together and got everything to my new place and then the 2nd time I used them which was around Jan. Feb. 2019 I didn't get the same guys and the 2 guys didn't work together and were kinda all over the place and then when they got to my storage unit they but my heavy stuff on top of the other stuff but my clothes I've been trying to find some where in my storage unit and I had everything labeled and I still can't find my clothes or anything I need ita just a mess. Someone should really re-train the two guys everytime I have had storage unit and movers helped I've always always had the furniture in the very back and clothes, shoes, etc. Up front by the door so I can't access the stuff I need.

Thank you for helping us move to Longview. Helped us get the washer and dryer hooked up. Great work!
