Southern Moving Company, Cottondale AL

From Jeff D. - Alamo, CA I'm in California, and my son goes to University of Alabama. Because he's an athlete, he had to stay past regular move-out from the dorms, and his departure date was up in the air. We found out 2 days ago that he was done, and damned if I was going to pay for round-trip airfare and a rental car to move him out of a 10x10 room, with no furniture. First I called Dorm Room Movers. They charge $44 per 18"x18" box to move and store things for the summer. I think they wanted $55 for the mini-fridge that cost me $110 shipped from Amazon. I looked for a local solution, and came across John Sparks at Southern Moving. He was awesome. I asked him if he had boxes for sale-he gave me the name and address of a store that would give them to my son. His guys showed up at 9am, as promised and on time, and had my boy moved into a climate-controlled (that was important for insurance coverage) mini storage in less than 2 hours. I was able to handle the whole thing, including payment, over the phone. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company.

These guys were great. They were right on time, even early. They took care of my stuff, and were fast and efficient. They were also pleasant and made sure I had everything I needed. I think the cost was fairly reasonable. It actually ended up being cheaper than we estimated. They said online reviews are helpful to their business and I was happy to do it. And if they thought they had done a bad job, they probably wouldn't want people writing reviews. I would definitely recommend them.

I had planned for a miserable weekend moving, but thanks to Southern Moving Co it was a breeze. I was impressed with how quickly they moved everything and were also respectful to us and of our stuff. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, I definitely recommend them.

John and his 3 workers were obviously experienced. My mother hired Southern Moving Company for the first time this semester in Tuscaloosa. They arrived early. They were very patient. Nothing was damaged. I was so surprised by their professionalism and dedication that I decided to take the time to write this review.

My daughter graduated for Alabama and moved to LA.(That's another story). I had to figure out how to get her furniture out of her apt by the 31st as I couldn't get there myself. (I'm on the East Coast). Called John at Southern Moving only a week ago and he stepped up to the plate and got her stuff out and into local storage by the 31st. Great communication, service, and best of all,,, PRICE. He even delivered the key to the storage unit manager after locking up the unit. I highly recommend this company, they know how to work under pressure.
