I have worked with Brian on several commercial and residential moves. He goes above and beyond, is professional, courteous and always gets the job done. I highly recommend this company for your moving and storage needs.

To be clear, this review is not a review of North American. This is a review of a franchisee, "The Other Moving Company". I noticed your response, Brian. I hope the pictures I added help potential customers get a better idea of how you operate your business. I'm sorry I do not have pictures all of the items you did not assemble that I paid you to assemble. I have spent my time doing that part of your job. See below: Moving service estimate was provided for interstate move at original location; upon arrival at destination the cost of move increased 10% I received a quote from owner for an interstate move. He quoted $1,700 to pack the home. I opted to pack the home myself provided he supply the boxes at no cost. He quoted 129 boxes and supplied 55. After I completed packing, his company would then load and transport our belongings to the destination. On loading day his movers packed several TVs, mattresses, and a couple of other various items into boxes. There was not any discussion of a change order or that the cost of the move would increase if they packed TVs, mattresses etc. His employees also disassembled numerous items such as crib, beds, shoe racks etc. This service was included in the quote. Had he told me the cost would increase I would have packed the items and dissembled/assembled myself. He actually said, "don't worry about that stuff, we'll take care of it." Upon arrival at destination at 8am on 5/4/2020 his driver presented an invoice for roughly 10% more (or $577) than the original estimate. The driver stated his crew could not start unloading until he had a check in hand. I was forced to sign the invoice in order to claim my belongings. I assume this was the "change order" which inflated the cost by $577. The moving crew did not reassemble any items. Many items are lost/stolen or damaged. I sent numerous pictures of all of the damaged items. Owner finally returned my calls and continued to repeat, "what can we do to make this right." I simply stated remove the additional fee for a service that I did not request. He was noncommittal and I assume he thought I planned to pay for the change order that wasn't requested. I immediately put a stop payment on the check until we could resolve the discrepancy in estimates/invoices/unrequested change orders. When he received the check he threatened lawsuits and became irrational. He blocked the claims process so I cannot file claims on all of the damages. This business practice is unethical, if not illegal, and I should be refunded $577 which I have now paid to ensure he did not become violent. If I cannot resolve the issue through the BBB I will resort to small claims court.

The movers were nice, professional, and very careful with the furniture, both loading and unloading. They were also very careful with their truck, staying on the driveway and not going on the grass. This is the second time I have used The Other Moving Company, and once again I was not disappointed! I highly recommend them!!

We’ve moved several times and this company is by far the best one. The owner is very personable, interested in helping and makes sure the service offered will match the customer’s needs. From the prompt arrival of the moving crew to their work ethics they certainly demonstrated respect and pride on their work. I strongly recommend this company.

First visit was very pleasant, friendly staff, and warm and sincere welcome. Made an appointment for estimate and purchased wrapping paper at a great price.
