With all the negative reviews for this company, I was really worried about my delivery. However, I was incredibly impressed with the experience, from scheduling the delivery to the moment my new island was in my kitchen! I was able to schedule my delivery online and was given a 12 hour delivery window. I emailed the company, concerned I’d have to wait around all day. I received a reply almost immediately assuring me that I’d get a four hour delivery window the day before my delivery. Sure enough, I got a text and email the night before notifying me my order would be here between 10 and 2. I received a call around 12:30 that they’d be there in 30 minutes, and sure enough they were exactly on time! The island was assembled in my apartment in less than 5 minutes by two extremely professional and friendly guys, then they took the trash and were on their way! I would use Twin Cities Moving Systems again.
I wish they had a negative for the stars! They don't deserve even one star. First of all - they are very hard to get a hold of. If you leave a message during working hours, they don't return your call. They had my furniture for over a month. I even left my cell phone number for them to reach me when I was out of town - they still left a message on my home phone. The only reason they called and left me a message is because my designer was also calling them to contact me. When they brought my couch for delivery up to the door, the main delivery guy said “it isnt’ going to work - it’s not going to fit and we are not going to be responsible for any damage done to the walls or door.” He asked me if we had measured before we ordered, and I told him we went through a designer at Pottery Barn. He asked me if I wanted to keep the couch or the chair. I told him no, if the couch didn't work, I didn’t want the chair either. He was ready to bring the couch back to the truck. I asked him how he knew it wasn’t going to fit without even trying. I told him we should at least measure. He took pictures of the door and entrance and sent them to his boss at Twin Cities Moving Systems, Inc. His boss called me and I told him they were not even going to try to measure or see if it would work. He told me his driver had many years of experience and would know if it would work or not. The driver had a “major” attitude. I told the owner that we needed to at least measure - he agreed. My husband got a measuring tape and went out to measure. The main driver again told him - "we are not going to measure, it’s not going to fit." I had to tell him that I had his boss on the phone and he is requesting that we measure. The driver stated, “this isn’t a mattress, it doesn’t bend”. They finally tried and they loosened the hinges on the door so it could open wider. They did get it in the living room, with a minor scratch on the front door. The owner was defending the attitude of the driver. Terrible company - avoid them!!
Story of how the Company fixed a problem that was their fault: Mattress was delivered on time. Nothing noteworthy there. The men in the truck were polite and apologetic, but absolutely refused to take the old mattress, even though it stated explicitly in three places of their work order that they were to do so -- even in a handwritten note that was highlighted. I called the company three times and left messages. I was not impressed. I was sorely peeved that they flat-out just would NOT do what their work order told them to do, and what we expected would happen when we bought the mattress. This was a BAD DEAL!! I posted two pictures. One is of our old mattress that was STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO PICK UP!! And the other is the driver's work order clearly showing in three places (and highlighted, handwritten) to pick up the old mattress. I pointed out to the driver that if they had room for the mattress they delivered, they had room for the old mattress. He said the truck was full and would NOT take the old mattress. Well, I am pleased to say that I did receive a call back, and the lady acknowledged that the delivery men indeed should have picked up the old mattress. She said she would need to check with the scheduler to see when they would have a truck in the area again, and call me back. At this point I was still doubting that anything would really be done. But to my surprise she did call back and scheduled a pick up. She also said that the delivery men's conduct would be addressed with them. In the end the same men arrived and took our old mattress, so I am impressed that Twin Cities Moving Systems kept their word and followed through with the full agreement. Good job!
