From start to finish a great experience! Our request was very unusual but the office people coupled with the truck team to make it happen. Instead of a flip "we don't do that" they found a way to meet our needs. EVERY person i interacted with was a great representative of this fine team.
About a month ago I filled out the online quote. Crickets. Yesterday I called and spoke with Greg (I believe that was his name). I inquired about a moving service and he didn’t know anything about it and said he would need to call me back. He did call within 5 minutes and said they did not offer that service. I told him that the website says you do. Then he said it was only for “like if you’re going out west or Florida” I reiterated what I had said previously which was I am going to Florida. We went back and forth for a bit and he kept attempting to talk me out of the service with travel fees and I was confused because...it’s my money so why did he care what I spent it on? Finally I get him to agree to start a quote and he says we would need to do an inventory. I informed him that I had done that a month ago so he pulls the quote. Oh it looks like Stephanie (Samantha?something with an S ??) has been working with you so I can’t help you. I tell him I have no idea who that is and no one has contacted me. He says sorry I can’t help and hung up. I emailed corporate for help. Nothing. I filled out another online quote. Nothing. Who runs a business like this? Moving from south Virginia to central Florida seems like it would be a decent amount of profit but I guess I’ll be renting a Uhaul and driving myself home. ✌
This experience deserves no stars, from start to finish. Two Men and a Truck (Patterson St, Greensboro) provided an estimate to move our home (no packing) for $1050-$1200. Two men arrived on time at 9am on June 9, the day of our move. Their first response was "Oh my gosh, this is a lot of stuff. You've got so much stuff." They proceeded to complain and stand around for about an hour, wandering room to room, "assessing." When they finally got going, they moved at a snail's pace. Eventually, they called in 3 more people to help them. My husband and I watched as 3 people would watch 2 other people move a dresser onto a truck. This happened all day. Standing around. No sense of urgency. There was no one in charge of this group of people. They continued to complain because we had a piano, because we had a safe--all of which was detailed up front when we spoke to the estimator. They honestly appeared as if they had never moved anything before. We called their supervisor early on in the day when all of this started, sent pictures of the guys just standing around, and told him we were not paying by the hour for them to stand around and move like it hurt them. He apologized. We continued to call him as the day wore on and got worse. They finally stopped moving items at 11:45pm. They had not moved everything, but we couldn't take any more of it. The supervisor had told us on the phone not to pay that night and that the general manager would be calling us to rectify the situation. The movers tried to charge us $2200 b/c of the 'hourly rate'--over double the low-end of our quote. We waited for the general manager to call and he never did. FInally, we get a call on August 4, asking why we haven't paid. My husband then goes into the whole saga again, saying that they were supposed to be in touch with us and that we were told not to pay until we heard from him. He says he will look into this further and get back to us. He never did. Fast forward to yesterday, November 22, and we get a COLLECTION NOTICE in the mail for $2200. The GM never called us, we were NEVER once invoiced for the amount owed, and yet, they have turned an amount over to collections. My husband spoke with the GM this morning and he was not apologetic and was actually kind of a jerk about it. This company has the absolute WORST customer service from start to finish. There may be good locations, but this one isn't it. My grandmother's piano was broken, a hole punched in a wall, and overall the movers were just unprofessional and seemingly inexperienced. And the company doesn't care, either. Avoid them!!! You can see in the pics I attached the "standing around" that occurred that day...standing around watching others bring a dresser down the stairs, standing around watching them load it on the truck. This happened all day and is why it took them from 9am-11:45pm to move packed contents of our home--and they didn't even move the whole house.
