Our family has used Willamette for over a dozen times in our last moves locally in Portland to Woodburn to Wilsonville. The most recent move involved coordination of a packing crew with return to pick up major furnishings a week later. Spencer was excellent to deal with, their office staff and the crew were very helpful to my sister - age 69. They are hard workers and Plesant to deal with. I worked in moving while attending Oregon State so I have slight past experience.
We have used Willamette Express for our office moves several times, and for installing furniture and cubicles. They are friendly, and knowledgable and we have had a great experience using there services. I would definately use them again and would recommend them.
Very professional & courteous. I've moved several times & have never had a move go better than this one.
Posted under a pseudonym as I don't want to get into a back and forth argument full of empty platitudes that ultimately go nowhere. My intention was not to post this. However, after having given this feedback to Willamette Express directly and not even getting acknowledgment of my thoughts I figure it needs to be said. I would give the experience a solid C-. My reasons? 1. Packing was done quite poorly. While not much was broken (only a shoe-rack so far) there were several boxes that were exceedingly heavy. Several (3) boxes had items that appeared to be just sort of tossed into them. For example- a box of tools seems to have been “poured” into the box and as a result are fully tangled up and it is taking a long time to unpack them. Additionally, I cut my hand (very minor nick- nothing serious) on a saw blade as they were not wrapped and the saw blades were facing up. 2. There was clearly some drama between the packers and the movers as the lead mover was quite vocal about his displeasure with the packers. I get that “stuff” happens but this should be kept internal and not made public to the customer. It was a bit uncomfortable. 3. After a very positive first impression I am totally disappointed that Spencer never followed up with me after setting up the move; I had to call to confirm and feel like I had to push every step of the way to get this move done. I had no way to get in touch with him except by calling the main office. One would expect a phone call or some face time to check-in and see how things are going. I felt totally abandoned and certainly not valued as a customer. I understand that our move was not a high dollar move but a lot of work is gained by referrals or repeat business. Therefore, they will not be referred by me nor will I use them again for any future moves. I have also let the person (our Mortgage broker) that referred them to me know that they should be removed from his list of referrals. 4. I was totally irritated by a surprise charge for some plastic sheeting laid down on our floors. This was “just done” and it was only after the move was done and I was writing the check that I was informed I had to pay for a few pieces of plastic. Not much money granted…but transparency is key and that transparency was not there.
Best moving company! They are a bunch of hard workers! I want to send a special thanks to some personal for helping us with this big move. They are Colleen, Bob, Jon, Scotty and Garret. We had a few hiccups along the way but we fixed it. I would higher them every time. Thank you again for making my job easier.
