When we arrived with vehicles full of stuff to put in the storage unit, the access gate code we were provided with was denied and we weren’t able to get through the gate to access the storage unit. I was on the phone with a customer service representative for about 45 min who gave me 15 more different codes that all were also denied. At this point she basically told me there wasn’t anything she could do about the issue and that it was a self service company. Will never use this place again and will not ever recommend it.

We had a horrendous experience. Pickup went smoothly for the most part. I was shipping a friend's belongings to her. I specifically asked to have her name on all documents to ensure she could pick it up without any hiccups. I then called the store in Iowa to confirm that she could pickup. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. When it arrived in Iowa, she was told she wasnt on anything. The lady working, Jennifer, was extremely rude. They requested that I call in, so I did. She then told my friend, verbatim, she was lucky I had the same phone number or she would be SOL.That they would have kept her things. When she reasonably got upset over that statement. Jennifer said 'I care more about my job than I care about your stuff'. The 'stuff' that was entrusted uhaul to safely ship and return. After paying over $1300 she should have recieved superb customer service. Not be told her belonging don't matter to you. That is part job, is it not? To care about her belongings? Thank goodness I was available to call in to help. Otherwise Im not sure what would happen. Then when Jennifer tried to hook up the trailer she didnt know what she was doing and nearly broke it and messed up their personal vehicle as well. They had to stop her and do it for her. The onlyb issues with unloading were the latches to lock it. They were bent so badly it were nearly impossible to open them. If you don't have help or a way to bend metal, you're screwed. Then when it was dropped back off a few days later the same woman (Jennifer) didnt input it in the system that it was returned. I'm not confident it would have happened had I not gotten an alert a couple days later and called. She admitted that she didnt know how to do it and would let the manager know the following day. To me it sounded like she never even bothered to let anyone know it was returned. It took 4 days from the day it was dropped off, to the day it was put in the system as returned.
Jennifer is awful has no customer service skills, is fully incompetent and either needs a whole lot more training or a new job. The way she talked to everyone involved was fully unacceptable and unprofessional.
Overall our experience was extremely poor, nearly every step of the way. Ubox may be slightly cheaper than their competitors but not enough to make up for everything else. I'm beyond disappointed.

The storage units are spacious, secure, and clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
