***I highly suggest to STAY AWAY from Liberty Bell Moving & Storage.***

This company uses deceptive trade practices and cares more about being “right” than keeping customers happy.

In the contract, they tell you they can add a 3rd mover at their discretion and that adding a 3rd person at your expense will work out as the same, but it actually doesn’t because they charge you an hourly rate for 3 movers not just for loading and unloading of the items, but also for riding in the truck. Meanwhile, in the initial estimate email they’ll tell you they will use 2 movers.

They write out how the hourly charge is applied in the middle of a lengthy email but fail to include such info in the actual (also lengthy) contract that is to be signed. The flat travel fee does NOT include time traveling from your 1st move site to the 2nd one. Instead, you are charged an hourly rate for 2 movers, or 3 if they decide they want to add another at their “discretion”.

Their Better Business Bureau rating is a C+

They expect you to provide a week notice to change or cancel a move; otherwise you lose your deposit which includes the travel fee plus 2 hours of move time with 2 movers; it doesn’t matter whether the change is outside your control.

Their response to bad reviews is highly unprofessional. Instead of trying to resolve the complaint, the owner calls people names (“idiot”, “moron”, etc.) or dismisses it by saying it’s a fake review.

There was a recent lawsuit against them for unlawfully threatening to sue or charge people for posting bad reviews, trying to site “defamation of character” (Yelp warns people of this).

They are essentially company-centric, not customer-centric.

They’ll be responsive and agreeable to get your business, but then will already have your credit card info on file to charge you how they see fit, even if you disagree or try to resolve a contested invoice.

They have no interest in providing a win-win situation for their customers.

I wish I had done a more thorough investigation into Liberty Bell Moving & Storage before hiring them. If I had, I would not have hired them. Hopefully this review saves others from having a similar costly and stressful experience that I ended up having with this company.
