Moving with this company has not been the best experience. If you’re doing a military DITY move don’t use this company. They are not organized and If I wouldn’t have wasted my time on the pone every step of the way I would have never got my weight tickets. They also changed my delivery date twice and then charged me without my knowledge. I only found this out when I called to ask why I paid $400 more for their service than what they quoted. Beware there are hidden fees with this company such as fuel cost and a storage fee.
The container with the entire contents of my house was supposed to be delivered today. Apparently every single truck that this company owns is broken down at the same time. The way they notified me that my container delivery would have to be rescheduled was via text message with enough grammatical and spelling errors that I had a difficult time figuring out what they were trying to tell me. I called and waited on hold for around 30 minutes and was finally connected to someone who told me they could not even give me an estimate on date/time of delivery. They couldn’t tell me if it would be days/weeks/months. I have a new house with no belongings because the container that I scheduled weeks ago and prepaid for is being held hostage. I asked for money back, as I paid for a service that I am not receiving. I was told there is nothing they can do because the delivery part of the package I purchased is free (I guess they don’t count the money I have already spent). They didn’t hold up their end of the deal, so now I just have to sit and wait and hope they deliver the container with everything I own in it. In addition, they have awful customer service. One of the people I spoke to couldn’t stop yawning on the phone mid-sentence - I’m talking about a comical amount of audible yawning that caused her to stop talking. I kind of feel like I’m on Candid Camera at this point. Is anyone working at 1-800-PACKRAT competent? Doesn’t seem that way to me. When I asked to talk to someone above the person I was talking to in order to come to a resolution, I was told that the higher ups don’t talk on the phone. Nice.
UPDATE: I am now told that my container will arrive tomorrow. I hope that’s true. I also hope that they have the common decency to refund some money to me for the undue stress and inconvenience this has caused. On top of an already stressful and expensive move, I had to book a hotel room so I would have a bed to sleep in tonight. I will never, ever use this company again. I will tell every person I know about this.
