The gentleman who was finalizing my uhual rental, covertly added an additional $70 trip insurance product onto the transaction. This was never discussed, and I was not made aware of said charge until being asked to sign the receipt. When I confronted the representative about the additional charge, he stumbled through some explanation that consisting of him 'assuming I wanted the extra protection'. A ridiculous excuse for what amounts to attempted theft.

I had to wait an additional 15 minutes while he voided out the transaction, and rerang me up. I also had to wait a few days until that almost $300 was available for me to use, on my trip. If you do business here, pay attention that what they are charging you.

Edit: The owner below is trying to insinuate that the insurance was 'by default' added to the order. This is incorrect. I methodically went through everyone of the 15 products that uhual attempts to add to the order, and removed them. At the end of my order, I was presented a summary with a total due, insurance was not on my reservation when I arrived to the store. I still have the email which completely contradicts your imagined series of events.

It is of no surprise that a company that attempts to steal from their customers, also attempts to blame the customer, for a poorly managed interaction. The phone call you saw me make was to my wife, I was explaining to her how your associate just tried to stiff me out of $70. I struggle to see how my reaction to the incident, somehow was the cause of it. Your faulty logic is reminiscent of my experience, disappointing.

I picked up my U-haul rental here and received proper help on getting it set up. The guy even asked if I wanted to come pick up the auto transport separately, which made so much sense I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it originally. So came back the next day after the truck was stuffed full and met by two nice ladies. They were very helpful in towing the auto transport for me to connect the truck to and helped with that connection. They also pointed out a few other tips that helped make the trip more successful. As a cherry on top, this facility adopted a stray cat that is so friendly to the customers and adds the right vibe to the place. Give my regards to Pancake, the star of this location!
