A-1 Moving

My boyfriend and I needed someone to move his dad’s belongings. His dad recently went to prison and needing his things moved from an apartment. My boyfriend and I did a walkthrough of the apartment prior to calling so we could get an idea of what we needed. We called and had a date and time set with this company. They then decided to completely refuse us service due to “the circumstances” (his dad being in prison). I understand wanting to be cautious and make sure that your employees and yourself aren’t walking into an unsafe environment. He initially requested we do a thorough walkthrough and go through things to make sure there aren’t any illegal things in the apartment (totally understandable) we were happy to do that. But after 15 minutes on the phone he said he wouldn’t do business with us unless we payed 100% in cash because it was “sketchy”. My bf owns his own business and I myself am a full time RN (exactly why we are too busy to move his belongings ourselves). Really discriminatory if you ask me. Would not recommend.

Called Thursday July 11th for moving service from this company, as a small business owner myself I try to support local when and where I can, we are in a pinch with my father going to prison and trying to figure moving for his items as I work out of state. All seemed well until I mentioned this to this company and owner practically stated due to the circumstances he would not take the job if I was not paying by cash and would not accept a check made out from our company to his company for the service. I offered a deposit to no avail. Was also shunned for not carrying cash, I advised we occasionally have cash on hand and I can provide proof of funds as well as a deposit if need be as we do not currently have cash on hand to pay for the service but we do have funds to pay via check, again to no avail.

I could not imagine turning a client down due to the circumstances surrounding their need for a service, and making assumptions about a potential client due to their need for your service. Would not recommend this company to anybody.

Highly recommend. They were timely, organized and best of all personable. Will use again.

Very good experience with a knowledgeable moving service. Have used them before, and satisfied with all aspects of their work.
