A-1 Self Storage

Stay away from A1, every location will jack up your rates after 6 months. Especially in this area there are several other storage providers, all of which are better than this one.

This is by far, the nicest storage facility we've ever used. Very organized, as far as access to the long bed carts, nice clean bathroom, the onsite office is nice and people friendly.
The corridors are bright, light and spanking clean. They stream the oldies music, well 60's through the 80's. The songs you can sing to.

Note: if you've been in your unit for a while ( a couple of hours ) and the light sensors don't pick up movement, the light in the hall will shut off. So either you move toward the opening of your unit, from time to time so the sensors keep the lights on or do what we do and keep a battery operated Lantern on.
If the corridor light does shut off while you are in there, just move to the opening of your unit and the light will turn back on.

First Thomas at the San Juan Capo store, once I told him I preferred to handle my reservation for a storage unit entirely on the phone and not online, got me over to the A-1 phone bank, where Ashley made the reservation process very seamless and quick.

This place is by far the best storage facility option in San Juan Capistrano. Over the years I have had a unit at one time or another at all of the other facilities in town. A-1 is the newest facility in town. Therefore they have all of the latest conveniences. Very clean and secure. Well lit and at even smells good. Great hours and access to your unit.
Staff is all 5 stars. Everyone I have spoken to on the phone or dealt with in person has been friendly and helpful. Teresa, the manager, another young lady and most recently Thomas working the front desk were all courteous and knowledgeable.

Updated review February 2024. I'm embarrassed to say that I am renting my third unit from A1 storage. I was offered a free month at the neighboring storage facility and I still chose A1 Storage for their professionalism, cleanliness and secure facility. Sarah, the manager was kind enough to give me a 25% off my first time. Yes, if not as good as one free month but I was still appreciative that they were able to assist me with my third rental. Jazz, who was working the front desk was friendly and helpful at getting me everything I needed for my new storage unit. As always thank you for maintaining a great facility and for providing five star customer service.
