Terrible Experience with AB Moving Service

I had a highly disappointing and frustrating experience with AB Moving Service, and I strongly advise against using them. Initially, they quoted me $2,113.70 for 15 items and 30 pieces, which seemed reasonable. I paid a deposit of $661.37. However, just three days before my move, they presented me with a revised estimate ~2560$, forcing me to remove several items to try to stay within my budget.

I recalculated everything and shared my updated list with them:
•10 (3-cubic-foot boxes)
•2 (6-cubic-foot boxes)
•1 (25-cubic-foot TV)
•1 (20-cubic-foot rocking chair)
•1 (25-cubic-foot baby bassinet)
•2 (6-cubic-foot bags)
•4 (6-cubic-foot suitcases)

By my calculations, the total volume was 148 cubic feet. Yet, AB Moving insisted it would take up 409 cubic feet and tried to charge me significantly more.

This entire process caused me extreme mental stress and financial strain. Their communication was poor, and the way they handled this situation felt like a bait-and-switch tactic.
AB moving is not a BBB certified moving company or a broker.

If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid AB Moving Service and United Prime Van Lines at all costs. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.

I used AB Moving Services for a long-distance move from PA to CA. I highly, highly recommend it!! Greg and the moving crew did a fantastic job--I've moved a lot and this is the first move where absolutely nothing was broken or damaged.

They were respectful, professional, and very careful with all of my belongings. Their work ethic is incredible, they put in long hours without seeming to stop. My packing and loading occurred over two days, during which it rained non-stop, but even so, all of my furniture and boxes were handled with great care.

Unloading on the other end involved a 2nd story condo and they handled the stairs without any issues despite how heavy some of my furniture was. I can't say enough good things.

This was short notice for work and very stressful and only had a week to set everything up. Greg was very attentive and answered my many questions whenever I called. Even at 10 pm at night. Thanks to Greg and everyone over at AB Moving Services!

Horrible. Matt contacted me had me measure, send pictures of Everything gave me a quote including 2 tv boxes (Minden La had none) for an additional 130 dollars and never showed up with them. That is the least of deceptive practices. Then Ben, a nice guy in the phone attempted to help resolve MANY ISSUES only to discover after they had loaded star line from new jersey , who showed up in a rental truck when I was told a true moving company/ie semi what show up they just needed to know the space I needed on that truck. That was only the beginning of the problems of the manifest. They didn’t load a third of the items yet charge me for twice the space that they originally bed based on measurements and photos thinking it was going to a house after I realized the deception are rented a storage unit, the exact cubic foot that they charge me for and it fills up half of it as well as a $3800 refrigerator. I can imagine anybody scratching or damaging any more panels than what they did broken furniture missing items and when they showed up to deliver it, it was in another rented company truck not wrapped nothing and they had used 11 of my personal Blankets not U-Haul blankets, but quality blankets that I purchased for the move for Glass and antique stuff and those were there were 15 of them and only three of them came back and they were on items that I had wrapped in tape so I reached out to the company that they said they were not affiliated with Starline trucking, which they in fact are the claims department a letter no response. I’m sending one certified signature required again run run run. Don’t let these people touch your stuff. I would’ve been better off to let them keep the deposit and rep purchased everything except for they had personal Momentos that were more important to me than Any damage broken or completely missing items including a $3800 Weber genesis three gas grill don’t bother calling cause the lady at the company that they use star line interstate won’t let you talk to the owner dismisses you oh and they took a credit card for the deposit which was more than what they originally quoted me and then want to cash for the next two portions once they picked it up and then once they delivered it of course no receipt providedafter a numerous calls. Still don’t have the item that they charge me for they were on the original quote, they charged me for twice the space they went $4200 from the original quote they’ve given me once they loaded my merchandise items once again. Ben tried to be as helpful as he probably was allowed to be. I was also led to believe they were a Texas Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana Mover they act like they don’t speak English when they get there and when you’re trying to read the contract, but then when you hear them, talk to the office, they speak perfectly good English. I have photographs documentation emails recorded phone calls since they say their lines are recorded then it’s OK that I recorded them. Please don’t spend your money. I don’t know if I am B is the problem or if that star line but I will pursue it. They also have their fine print. You can’t post anything negative unless you do Several things which I’ve done all of them calling emailing sending letters so I’ve covered my bases and have filed with appropriate agencies my complaint
I normally will not ever put a negative review out there cause I believe people try and do the best they can but I’m so adamant about this. I’ve not moved into the house. I’m staying with my mom keeping the things that they sent in the storage unit that I rented showing the fraudulent amount of space that they charged me for versus what was actually moved.
If I could post pictures on this review of the damages and the way, the rental trucks looked on the inside I would.

Highly recommend!!! Thanks a lot for assisting on my move. I spoke with Matt first and he helped explained the entire process and really made me feel secure. This was the first time in 30+ years that I had to move and ot was stressful. Matt answered all of my questions and was actually able to help me get my items the very next day. We'll worth the price!!!! Thanks again to everyone from AB!
