It has taken me a while to post these comments as the owner, had promised to make things right, but that has not happened.
In December I hired this group to move me one block. They gave me an estimate of approximately $4,000 but in fact the move cost double that, and with NO warning. It started off well but QUICKLY went downhill. Remember I am paying by the hour. The movers would engage in random small talk, therefore running the price up. Walk out on my dock, and admire the views, Took time to look at my new truck and ask many questions. One guy would dance down the stairs, carrying a single broom, I'm guessing the move of that broom was $60.00 I could buy a new one cheaper. This was common practice. Unnecessarily pulling part of furniture apart so the hours would run up. I even bought lunch for them, gave them water, snacks, etc.

Now lets get to the bigger issues. BROKEN items galore. Chipped a Green Egg, destroyed several pieces of art. Used drawings as packing paper. Used a $500 jacket as packing material, and so on. The list of destroyed or damaged items is too long to post here. When I contacted the owner, he said sorry. And offered to refund me $200. WOW that would not even make a dent in the costs I will incur to repair or replace my items.

Furthermore, I was promised the $200 the next week. GUESS what I still have not seen it nor anything else. The owner stated that it was a bad time of year, and funds were tight. A business that is run so tight that they could not afford $200? PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Leif and Antonio were likely the best movers I’ve ever had move me, and I’ve moved a lot! They were courteous and personable and were all about taking care of business. About the Move is a well run, organized and professional moving company. Highly recommend.

My move was from DeFuniak Springs to Crestview Fl, about 25 to 30 miles. The 4 man crew worked very well together----obviously, they enjoy each others company. All of them said they love what they do, especially the opportunity to travel and meet new people. They were courteous and thoughtful, and placed boxes in the areas we asked them to, unlike many moving companies we have had before. It is refreshing to see a team work together as a team and enjoy their job, not viewing it as a daily burden, but as a daily adventure--something to look forward to. Makes all the difference in the world and it shows in their attitudes and approach to work. Our thanks to such a great team. I doubt if we will ever move again, as we are in the winter of our lives, but should we have to, I will call upon About the Move again----and recommend you to others. Our thanks and God's Blessings.
