I can confirm these five stars reviews are fake. WARNING THEY ARE NOW CALLED ATLANTIS VAN LINES! Getting an original estimate of $475 to move from my apartment to a new home 5 min away I was psyched. The day of however they were 3 hours late came with an extra worker and made me sign a blank document in case they had to use any materials (mind you we packed 99% of everything ourselves before they got there). I asked them to wear masks (I'm high risk) and he just laughed and refused. We finally get to the new house and they hit us with the real price of a $1000 cause they used 'apparently' $500 worth of packing material (2 boxes and some tape and plastic wrap). Of course we were livid and called the manager where he cursed my mother out over the phone. We literally had to call the cops to make sure we got our things back. After yelling on the phone my mother got the manager down to $600 but only literally to take the stuff out of the truck, my family and I had to move the things into the home. SCREW THESE GUYS!!!! DON'T GET SCAMMED!!!
I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! I moved from ny to fl. I was paying by sq ft and they put a huge empty box in the back and covered it with my things and made me pay extra extra 25%. On the phone the estimate is always twice less. They also charge you for packaging over $100. if you put together all they charge you , you mind as well hire a good and professional company. don't waist your money here.
P.S. my bed frame was cracked so as a fire place and my kids pink expensive armour.
This company changed its name for Atlantis Vanlines, but the address and everything else is the same. They were extremely rude and unprofessional when dealing with me. The driver arrived more than one hour late in my place. It would not give us enough time to complete the moving process. So we decided to cancel and find a new company. They even tried to charge for a cancellation fee, for something that was entirely their fault. Really distressful trying to find a new company at the last minute. And completely changed our plans. But honestly was the best thing we did, because I would not trust leaving my belongings in their hands.
I got a quotea few weeks before my move. I told them everything that was going to be included in the move so they would be able to accommodate. They were very nice and attentive, right up until moving day.
Moving day came and the movers showed up in sandals, with a truck that could barely fit half of everything I had. I called the company and was basically told, no problem, find another company. At this point I had no other choice but to continue with the move.
I expected the move to take 4-5 hours, so I was ready to spend a little more than the quote I got for 3 hours. The 'movers' came without any shrink wrap, tools, or supplies, but they still charged me them (which i was not aware of until the moving day). They told me there is a $200 fee for supplies, even though I had to drive to home depot while they sat around waiting for me to come back with the things they needed.
Fast forward, the move took 9 hours and I had to pay triple what I was originally quoted. I tried to speak with the management people about it, but they were nasty and aggressive. When my couch was chipped and cut up, I was told that a claim form would be emailed to me. Surprise surprise, it wasn't.
I had a feeling that there was no way these movers worked for the company directly. The main mover ended up telling me that he got a call from the moving company the night before and asked him if he could do a 1BR job tomorrow, and if he has any friends that could help. He had zero clue what was on the list of items that had to be moved.
The movers were able to fit about 65% of everything in their truck, and I had to drive the rest in my car which took me 4 trips.
Go with a more professional company. You will end up spending the same, as they nickle and dime you for everything you could imagine.
As I write this I am still shocked they showed up to the job without any tools or shrink wrap. The entire experience was an absolute nightmare. I learned my lesson, an expensive one.
