Affordable Moving and Storage, LLC

This company moved our entire 4200 ft² house back in December. It was very unorganized chaos and they did not inventory any of our belongings. In moves past we have had the moving company list every item that was put into a box, on the outside of the box. And label the box with the name of the room that he came out of. This made it so that we could very easily know where something was being stored by looking at the outside of the box.

They also damaged some of our items. Two bicycles were completely torqued the wrong way and had to be repaired by A bike shop. They did pay for these damages, so that was good. It's just that the guy who was packing those bikes was so careless. I actually heard him say I'm going to do whatever I have to do to get this to fit and then I watched him torque the handlebars in a really rough way.

We had all of our belongings delivered to our storage areas and it is all shoved in in such a disorganized fashion, there is no way for us to make sense out of anything. Most of the boxes just have the names of the room that the items were taken out of. There is no list of any of the belongings that are inside, whether written outside of the box or just a separate piece of paper that someone could give to us. So we have no idea where anything is. We had items that we had told them we needed to be available in the fall, and asked them to put them towards the outside of the storage area so that we could get to it for my son who is going back to college and needs his furniture and apartment supplies. We can't find any of it. So now I have to go out and spend a ton of money to replace it all because there's no way to find any of it. Literally everything of ours is shoved so deeply into these storage areas that there won't be any way to find any of it. We would have to rent a third unit just to have space to go through each box. We were very disappointed. I still am. Everyday I turn to my husband and say I wish we could find XYZ, but it's in the storage unit and who knows where.

Without having a inventory list of everything they packed, how can we know, now over 6 months later, whether they delivered everything or not? How do we know if something got damaged when we have no way to be able to find any of it to check?

I couldn't ask more from a moving company. They did everything they said they were going to do at the time they said they'd do it. The men were friendly and efficient. The general manager, Roland, went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule. We haven't quite unpacked everything yet, but it looks like this will be the first move we've ever had with zero damage. I highly recommend this company!!!

The company sent two men with a truck they rented from Budget; a mid-sized truck that would not hold all of my things. The two men moved it to the Eastern part on NC, then told me I would have to pay the same amount again to get the rest moved. They basically held me hostage. I was told that everything that was unassembled in Hickory would be reassembled in Jacksonville. It wasn’t. My Bowflex machine is in two parts, my electric bed doesn’t work, my dryer was not connected due to a plug issue, etc. Now, most of belongings are clothes and books and they are fine. The move, while being expensive, was on time, though much of the stuff was placed in my car! I would not recommend these people!

This guy gave me an estimate of $580 to move my 1 bedroom apartment contents a total of 5 miles. The 2 guys that came took multiple smoke breaks and repacked my belongings because they said I didn't pack them well enough. They took their time even though I had someone there to help them. They broke many things, didn't wrap my sofa so it's a filthy mess and broke my 55 inch flat screen smart tv. Then charged me $1087.
They wanted to just offer me $200 to replace my tv and that's all.
Denby has been very rude on phone calls and blamed me for everything. They took advantage of a woman alone needing help.
If I could give them no stars would be better.
