Just got news that my Grandmother was moved with the help of your company! My sister shared with me the amazing work done for our Grandmother. My family appreciates it more than you think. The communication is outstanding!
Terrible and extremely stressful experience. We received a quote/estimate based on a walk-through completed by an employee of the business. We were assured they could do the move in one day. Half-way through on the day of the move, they said they would need to come back the next day to finish. The final invoice was for TWICE the estimate (we do understand that the final amount may deviate from an estimate, but double the amount is outrageous). Their estimate states that it is a flat rate but the customer has the choice to choose an hourly rate instead. The final invoice was calculated on an hourly basis, with no discussion with us. They require a credit card be provided to hold the reservation and they *immediately* charged the credit card for the double-estimate amount. We reached out right away upon notification that they had charged the full amount on the credit card to discuss options to resolve the excessive charge, as we were more than willing to pay up to 50% more than the estimate, which is a very fair amount . There was no responsibility taken on the part of the business for their failure in properly estimating the size of the job and not finishing in one day, which caused our family to have to scramble and move many items ourselves in order to be out of the home on time. We were told the number of items increased between the day of the walk-through and the day of the move; however, after the day of the walk-through, we disposed of and moved a large number of items from the home. This confirms how erroneous their walk-through/estimate was. And the error was not ours as the customer. We trusted that as a professional moving company, they would know how to properly estimate or at a minimum, accept responsibility for their error and not try to gouge their customer. The customer service post-move has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. We cannot emphasize enough how strongly we discourage anyone from using this company, as we do not want anyone else to be taken advantage of like we were.
UPDATE - Response to owner's response:
I spoke with Trevor on the day of the move at the request of my mom (Carol) because she was very confused and upset, as you can well imagine being in the middle of a move and being told you would not be done in the time allotted. To be clear - she was clearly NOT satisfied, as she immediately contacted her credit card company to dispute the charge because she unequivocally did not agree to the price that you ultimately charged her. I imagine any child (or other family member) would be quick to jump in and offer assistance to their parent (or other family member) who asked them to do so and who felt mislead and taken advantage of. To try to paint this in any other light is disingenuous, misleading, and frankly, unprofessional to a level I have not witnessed before. I would hope any potential customers who take the time to read this, would again see that you are refusing to take any responsibility and are pushing everything off onto the customer and would most importantly not utilize your services. If you think any customer would be satisfied with being charged DOUBLE what an estimate was, without any opportunity to discuss or meet at a fair price, you are mistaken.
