Hire a helper ripped me off for extra time due to the fact they are not professional movers
The situation with how All About the Move got involved with my move is a really long story and ending with the fact I did NOT have a contract with this company nor Simple Moving Labor. I will try to keep this review to the work they did. Now, the guys (3) did show up (creepy as it is, for not having a contract with them) promptly at 9 am to my storage units, I’m still wondering how they got my information.
No one bothered to wear a mask, one guy even decided to smoke before they started. The third guy showed up a bit later. They started loading the moving truck (I rented) in a decent manner. Things started out ok though conversations were not always appropriate.
We then all go to my apartment to finish loading the truck. I should have stopped them the minute I realized they were not the moving company I did actually contract. Unfortunately, I let them carry on (I just wanted to be able to leave GA) and all I can say is that I’ve learned my lesson. As we have begun unpacking and finding things broken beyond repair I’m horrified to think they thought it was ok to put loose items (We still wanted to pack in boxes) on the truck for a move across the country. Fragile labeled boxes went to the bottom of the stack and are broken and crushed beyond repair including items in them. Heavy labeled boxes went in the tops of the stacks crushing everything underneath; Like why’d I even put labels in the first place. The lead guy kept me distracted with repeated phone calls to a manager that I had to keep speaking to so I didn’t monitor the mess they were making with packing of the truck. I NEVER had a contract with these guys or Simple Moving Labor so no time limit or expectation had been defined. No requirement or expectation they were to finish. They worked approximately 2 1/2 hours and of course wanted payment which I did pay but I ultimately do not recommend this moving company. Save your time and Energy and Call W P and L.
We hired this company to unload our items at a storage facility and 3 weeks later move to our new home. After they moved things into our home, we started noticing big scratches on both of our coffee tables which had zinc tops ( they are ruined - cannot even repair those) and then noticed big scratch on our outside coffee table that was metal (this also cannot be repaired). We called the owner and he agreed to give us $150 off (did not cover the full cost of the items that could not be repaired) but it was all we could do at that time. After they left we noticed all of our nice bedroom furniture from Pottery Barn had huge gauges in it and our other bedroom set had some scratches and gauges as well. Sent pictures and speaking to the owner was a nightmare - he wouldn't let me speak and kept talking over me. He finally agreed to contact his insurance and he said they would be calling me to get them repaired. He didn't call back and after speaking with him he said the insurance company wouldn't fix them cuz it wasn't bad enough. They are HUGE and DEEP. He argued with me and then told me to F...k off. Very unprofessional and they ruined all of our stuff. I would never recommend this company and BUYER BEWARE - you get what you pay for - I used College Hunk Movers in St. Louis and they were awesome - very professional and they were very careful. No scratches or gauges after they loaded it up.
