All Awesome Movers

I’ve moved a lot while in the military, and I chose this company based off of reviews and their upfront pricing. I’m sorry to say that our experience was anything but “awesome.” We moved from NoVA to Richmond, and as we’ve unboxed things, we’re still finding things missing (one lamp shade, a full table lamp, king size pillows). This makes me wonder what else could be missing that we don’t even know about. There was miscommunication about pricing, which eventually got fixed, but adding that element to an already stressful situation was awkward and unprofessional. The movers didn’t let me know that they caused damage to our newly painted walls in our old home. We found the damage after doing a walk through of the space after they’d left. In fairness, they sent someone back to fix it, but you can definitely still tell the damage was done. They never returned the key to our shed even when they said they would. Two of our beds weren’t put together correctly. They were initially responsive when they had to reimburse us for a missing patio cushion and fix the wall, but once they received their payment, we didn’t hear back at all regarding follow-up communication. Even though our boxes were labeled with the rooms that they needed to go to, almost half of our stuff ended up in our non-temperature-controlled garage. Communication in general was probably not great because some movers were watching soccer games on their phones while working. Overall it seemed like they cared more about getting things done quickly and couldn’t care less about our belongings. I had to hire an additional team of helpers weeks later to move things where they should’ve been in the first place to make it easier to unpack. Honestly, I hate to leave a poor review with any business, but the experience wasn’t up to par with the reviews we’d read, and others should know what they’re getting into before hiring this company to entrust with their moving needs.

I recently hired All Awesome Movers for my move, and my experience was incredibly disappointing. Despite thorough pre-move communication, the actual service was far below expectations.

Initial Quote and Communication:
When I called for a quote, I was assured of a 32ft truck, an 8-hour move, no charge for travel time, and a total cost of approximately $1300. I asked specific questions about the charges, insurance, packing and wrapping preferences, and labeling for the new house. The representative answered everything clearly, which gave me confidence in their service.

Moving Day Issues:
On moving day, the problems began immediately. Instead of the promised 32ft truck, a 16ft truck arrived. This truck was obviously too small, leading to the need for a second truck, which still barely fit my belongings. This inefficiency caused significant delays.

Professionalism and Handling:
The movers were courteous initially, but several issues arose:

They requested that I unpack a box to provide them with glasses for water, which was unprofessional and inconvenient.
They stained the carpet in my old home. Despite clear evidence that only they had been in the house, they adamantly denied responsibility.
They put a dent in the wall of my new home, further damaging my trust in their handling of my belongings.

Charges and Final Cost:
Contrary to what was promised, I was charged for travel time, and the movers even dropped one worker off at another location en route to my new home, which was unprofessional and time-consuming. The final bill was over $1700, a stark contrast to the $1300 estimate. Additionally, I was charged over $150 in taxes, something I had never encountered in previous moves.

Conclusion:
While the moving crew initially appeared professional, the numerous issues, including inadequate truck size, additional charges, unprofessional behavior, and property damage, resulted in a highly unsatisfactory experience. Accurate quoting and professional conduct are crucial, and this company failed on both fronts.

I cannot recommend All Awesome Movers based on my experience. The lack of transparency, accountability, and professionalism led to a stressful and costly move.

All Awesome Movers were fantastic! Professional, efficient and timely. The team of movers arrived on time and worked quickly to get us moved out of our townhouse. They had no problem loading our storage unit as well as other items into a moving truck. Gina was easy to work with in setting up the move and made sure everything was smooth on moving day. Will absolutely recommend and use them again in the future!
