Review:

All My Sons is a great moving co. I have used them for 3 different moves. Customer service is great and the movers are amazing! Kyle and Rolland, Medford location, did a great job - punctual, accommodating and friendly. It made the move way less stressful. I highly recommend them. Great job guys!!

On Saturday November 9, 2024 I hired All My Sons Moving and Storage (AMS) to move my furniture from a storage unit to my new apartment which are 5 minutes from each other.

AMS did not disclose certain expenses to me over the phone when I originally called for a quote / estimate including the $168.25 for a “fuel charge” and $28.40 for “materials” They gave me one low quote initially and then I ended up facing a bill that was almost 3x the amount originally discussed. This was a significant deviation from their promise to provide “affordable and accurate quotes” on their website.

AMS charged me $122.10 for packing materials such as wrappings, boxes, and a mattress bag. All of my items were previously professionally wrapped and packaged when they were moved into the storage unit. At no time did AMS actually use these materials. I spoke with the foreman of the job while reviewing the bill and he happened to be on the phone with his operations manager Chris Cook so he was able to contest along with me that those items were never used and should not be on the final bill. Mr. Cook apologized to me over the phone and assured me that I would be refunded for the faulty charge. I have yet to receive a $122.10 refund. Do not trust Chris Cook.

AMS insisted on making us pay BEFORE the move was complete. We had arrived at my new apartment when payment was demanded. This is a job that runs by the hour. How could they give me a final bill of sale before the move is over? They are charging for time that has yet to elapse. This offers them a few opportunities that put me at a disadvantage.

If I refuse payment I do not get my items off of the truck (essentially they are being held for ransom).

I am being charged for time that has yet to elapse. This offers the movers the opportunity to set the price and then take as long as they please unload my items.

As you will see in the accompanying Photos AMS broke and damaged a lot of my furniture. This was not merely a harmless mistake, but blatant recklessness and does not reflect the quality move that is promised on their website:
“Here at All My Sons Moving & Storage, our ultimate goal is to provide you with total satisfaction throughout your moving process, from your first conversation with one of our expert consultants to interacting with our trained professionals on moving day. We aim not to merely meet expectations, but to exceed them – and successfully raise the benchmark for excellence in the moving industry.”

BOTTOM LINE: This company was misleading, used predatory practices, and has refused to comply with even simple refunds like the $122.10 mischarge.

If I wanted to damage my furniture I could have done it for free, instead I am being asked to pay almost $1500 for a service that was less than everything promised to me and I have to go out and buy new furniture to replace some unusable pieces. I am losing so much money from this move.

When I complained I was told to “file a claim” I did that and they offered me a settlement of $600 for the damaged items only. I declined the offer and urged customer care to review my claim once more as I asked for a full refund for the move as well as money to cover the damaged furniture. AMS replied the next day with a counter settlement of $700 stating that this would be the “full and final” amount to be offered. They make no mention of refunding me for the cost of the move despite the many missteps and anomalies that I outlined in my claim.

I encourage everyone to look at the reviews of this company as listed on the Better Business Bureau website. In the time between my move on 11/9/24 and today there are over 20 one-star reviews posted all of which detail similar experiences to mine.

Kyle, Mike, Ishmael, and Jayden did a great job moving from three places! They were kind, helpful, skilled and careful. Well done gentlemen!
