Being a Realtor my clients are always asking for mover recommendations. Hands down Allied is the best. My clients are always pleased with the service they receive. Thanks for making me look good to my clients Allied. :)
Horrible service. Driver calls me close to 10pm at night informing we are his first pick up and we should expect from 8am-9am. After informing him our storage doesn’t open until 9:30 he insists the gate works and we should be ok. After agreeing to 8:30am, my wife is then stuck at the storage since they don’t open until 9:30am, then he never shows up. Called him at 9:30am and he said he’s 45mins away. Instead of apologizing he said”there’s traffic what do you want me to do?” How about you call your customer and inform you’re running late instead of having them look for you. He didn’t like what I said so he then hangs up the phone on me. Such professional service. Do not bother to use them. By the way the driver never showed up. Thumbs down.
Used this moving company beginning of March 2021 (yay Covid). To be honest I used Nationwide Moving who in turn contracted out this company to take care of my move.
All right now brace yourselves because this baby is gonna be long.
TLDR: The company lacks communication to a painful degree and some of their employees were very careless about Covid guidelines blocking them from doing the work that I had basically paid them for.
When I first got the moving company , I went over their info online and only after booking them, I noticed there were a bunch of shill accounts praising them. I see way less now, but be informed they have done that and they may again. Don't take their 5 star ratings for granted. That stuff is cooked up I can guarantee it.
The issues I had with them moving out was that they were incredibly late and lacked communication. They had said they would arrive sometime between 12-3PM and ended up coming at 7. Now this would be okay with me had they communicated properly. But they called in the morning telling me they'd be a couple hours late, I asked them if that can be changed because I'm on a time crunch, get a call back saying they'd be there at 3:30. After that, mostly radio silence, with the exception of one late call where they picked up giving me puppy eyes telling me they were looking for me and were just about to call. After some fighting words thrown at me for complaining how unacceptable this is, they told me they'd be there at 6 and the radio silence began. What broke that radio silence was a random text from the moving driver at 6:30 telling me that he'd be there in thirty minutes. When the movers arrived I spoke with him and he explained the whole situation. It wasn't his fault, and they were actually very nice, very caring of our stuff and just cool people. But the way the office treated the situation was really beyond me.
Now for the move in, let's give credit where credit's due, they came in a lot quicker than initially estimated. Sadly this ain't worth a damn compared to all the miscommunication and shenanigans they pulled off. So they come early and the guy comes up to me, no mask, and is doing paperwork. After he goes down to start unloading with his other moving boy, I go down with a pouch of masks offering them and asking them if it would be okay if they wore some when they came into the apartment. They refused vehemently. All these excuses about how they need to breathe coz they're doing heavy lifting, how were in Texas now and he can do whatever he wants about Covid... You get the idea. After some back and forth and some Covid indoctrination attempts, I tell them they are not welcome in my home and my property without wearing a mask and call the moving company tell them what's up. They said they would take care of it and call back. Now, what they did was, they called the moving boss who was in their team spoke their mother tongue, told them to instruct the guys before me to wear a mask and never informed me. I just found that out two days later. So the movers being little bing bongs decided to just be there. I asked them if they got any calls their answer was no. So we sat there for a good minute (this was anywhere between thirty minutes to an hour) staring each other. Eventually I just wanted these special boys out of my face so I told them to just bring everything outside the apartment door and leave. So they never really got to rebuild my furniture, and they never really brought and unpacked everything inside.
So yeah save yourself the stress and despair that is Allied Van Lines.
PS. To Allied Van Lines: Don't bother sending me a generic apology message of any sort. It will make you look even more fake, disgusting and sad than you already are.
Paul Franchi was great in providing a proposal and setting up the move. We had four movers who all worked very hard. A couple of items were not installed 100% correctly, but Mr. Franchi offered to send men back to make these corrections. This is the 3rd move we've done with Allied.
