Allied Van Lines

I was rescued by this company from a tight spot. They were the best. I was packed on Friday picked up on Saturday and delivered out of state on Monday and all with 2 days notice. You will never do better and I wish everyone moving to have a driver like Jimmy. Professional is the word. Suffice to say I will never attempt any move with anyone else. There is no reason.

Things started off well enough. We were given a quote, and the movers showed up on time to load our belongings. We were then given a six day window during which our household belongings would be delivered. On day 5/6, I had to call our moving coordinator to find out what time the truck would arrive the next day. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t arriving the next day. And they couldn’t tell me when it would arrive. You see, we were moving from SC to VA, but our belongings were in a warehouse in SC. For 5 days, no one could tell us when our belongings would arrive. Finally they arrived 10 days late. A good number of the boxes received heavy damage. Our antique dining set, which we made sure to point out to the movers, was scratched. And they lost all of the hardware to reassemble all of our beds.

To say I wouldn’t recommend Coleman Allied is a gross understatement. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!

Seamless process with very good communication

Packers and loaders were very good and done on time. Coordinator communicated well. However there was a hiccup with the scheduling of truck making the truck to arrive at least a day later (to start loading - but they provided workaround that enabled loading to be completed on schedule which allowed us to leave on tine (we were moving interstate.

The estimated will always estimate more weight than what you have since it’s guaranteed not to exceed the estimated cost. We reduced significantly eg eliminated gym equipment and heavy furniture and generator and in the end the reduction was minimal. So don’t reduce after the estimate is provided.

In summary the furniture was well packed, well unloaded and with minimal damage. In destination end driver and unloaded were amazing - good attitude, quick and careful.

We were only disappointed with the scheduling - the estimator will advise 5 - 10 days to arrive, plan for 10 days.
