I contacted Andy to move my daughter from New Windsor to Syracuse.I spoke with him foursomes before the moving date.We agreed on a price for two movers and a 20 foot truck.I gave him a $125 deposit(I hour) and discussed the estimated total time of the move and the best route from my house to the Syracuse address. The agreed upon time of the move to begin was 6/29 at 8am.At 830 on the 29th,no one had arrived or contacted from Andy's.I called Andy,he told me that he and his movers had worked late the day before and he told his crew to show up at his home at 9am.I asked when he would have the movers at my location and he said 930,which I could have pointed out was impossible since his base of operations is 45 minutes from my house, but I did not because I decided to play along to ensure the move happened.I began to move items into the driveway to reduce the time needed to make the move.Between 1015 and 1030,Andy arrived in a 10 foot U-Haul truck, he saw the look my face and said,'Don't have a cow,I have another truck on the way.'We began to load the truck and the other trucks 10 foot Budget truck rental arrived about an hour later with 2 movers.Whenthe second truck was almost loaded,I noticed Andy was placing the two flat screen TV's on the floor and wrapping them in pads, behind the load.I asked Andy if he thought the TV's were safe and he said 'I guarantee it.'About noon, the trucks were ready to pull out.I spoke with Andy and asked if he was having the trucks go up the thruways 3hour 15 minute ride he said the trucks were taking that route, even telling me he was meeting two more movers near the thruway entrance in Newburgh and giving them a loaded truck to take to Syracuse and he would take the car they were in to his house.I left about 1215 and I was driving at a good speed and after going past Albany called Andy and asked him if his trucks were on the thruway. He assured me they were and I was given the cell number of his foreman.I arrived at the Syracuse address at 330 and called the foreman. She said they would be there in about a half an hour. They arrived about 430.I told the foreman that it did not take 4 and a half hours to drive to Syracuse. She said that they had stopped for lunch and had actually been on Route 17 and then on Route 81 to Syracuse.I asked were the other truck was.She called the driver and then said about a half an hour.We helped unload the truck. The second truck arrived about 515.After unloading the that truck and the time had come to settle the bill, the foreman called Andy and he told her to bill me for 150 per hour.I informed herewith Andy on speaker, that we had agreed to 125 per hour.I showed her my 125 deposit receipt.I told Andy what I thought of his services, told him terrible review was coming and settled the bill at 125 per hour.Spectrum was coming the next day to connect the service and late in the afternoon my daughter called to tell one of the TVs was damaged and unusable.I called Andy the next day and informed him of this issue.I had asked him if he was insured when I agreed to use his service, he guaranteed that he was insured.Andy told me he would contact his insurance company and file a claim. At this point in time Andy had no credibility with me, and he said if his insurance did not cover the damage, he would do so personally.I decided to give Andy a week respond with information about the claim. When I did not hear from Andy by 7/8,I texted him and informed him I wanted information by 7/10 or I would seek another remedy to this issue.I had withheld my review until now to see how well Andy respond to my claim.Apparently he thinks it and I will disappear. Before I hired Andy,I read the reviews of his services.I mentioned this to him.I noticed he responded to two negative reviews. If Andy decides to respond to this review,I hope that he is factual in his response. For the sake of brevity,I have not included all of the truly egregious behavior I witnessed during this experience.I will be more than happy to relate these details. As of today,7/11,I have not heard from Andy.
Andy overcharged my credit card by $300.00 and refuses to return the money. His guys showed up late, didn't wrap any of the furniture before taking it out of the house. Above all, I'm most disappointed that Andy, asked for a $150 deposit, then give his guys $50 for gas, and then overcharged my card.
Contacted Andy last minute when I was moving and he responded right away and gave me a reasonable quote. Communicated the entire time and his guys were fast and helped out in extra ways, like picking up an extra bed at a different address. The easiest move I’ve ever had and would definitely use them again
