The movers who came were great. They were friendly and dealt with the heat. There were some issues with a
knob going missing and putting furniture together (we tightened/adjusted). See my initial statement and update for complete review.

My issue is with the estimate office. If you have been in the moving business in a specific area and I describe the stairs to move do not quote me 3 hours. You should know you crews and say this is the time and be aware of timing alterations. What was more infuriating was the lack of stating the extra fees…$40 for a mattress (which was said at quoting time), $5 for tape (never been charged for that in a move), and the nearly $180 because a wrapping job for TV and a computer which I stated just do blankets. This was not disclosed so do double check and have them double the time estimate.

I was able to get in touch very quickly with Jimmy at Easy Relocation to discuss the situation and provide feedback. He was able to thoroughly review their concerns and mine and came to a fair resolution within 24 hours. I was please with the timely response and should I need movers in the DMV area in the future will use them.

While I was pleased with the efficiency and service provided by my movers during my recent 65-mile move from Maryland to Virginia, I was disappointed by the hidden fees that were tacked onto my estimate. Although my movers arrived 4.5 hours late, they apologized and got started promptly. Before the move, I had provided the representative with an estimate of 12-15 boxes, and based on that information, I was told that the cost would be $565. I paid the deposit and waited for the move date. However, when the mover arrived, they discovered that I had packed extra large boxes and had a few more items than I had described, resulting in additional fees of over $800 and an elevator fee of $100. As a result, my original estimate of $565 ballooned to almost $1,400, nearly triple the original quote.

Since I had already packed all of my items in boxes and staged them on the first floor, it was easier for the movers to load the truck. The only items they had to move were my bedroom set, electronics (2 laptops and 4 consoles), a portable AC unit, and a TV. I found it unreasonable to pay that much money when I hadn't even requested packing services. I was informed that the additional fees had nothing to do with moving between states or travel, which made the charges even more difficult to understand. Additionally, I was almost charged a $150 long walk fee, which was something I had never heard of before.

If you choose to use this moving company, I recommend having a representative come to your home to inspect everything that will be moved to provide the most accurate quote. It is frustrating to pay a deposit and then find out about unexpected fees during the move, particularly because the contract stipulates a $500 cancellation fee if you decline the additional fees. At that point, you are locked into the move with little recourse.
