Area Wide Discount Movers

Good customer service.

Caution! Company was supposed to arrive at 10:00 but did not arrive until 1:00, and finished around 8:30. To be fair, there was a snow storm and they did text along the way. Area Wide Movers showed up with a pick up truck and a trailer that was WAY to small for the job. Owner (Tim) was given an opportunity to evaluate the job but chose to review pictures only. They were forced to make two trips. They did work quickly and efficiently and took care with my items when loading. My two main concerns are #1, one of the guys reeked of pot ….. REALLY? I put my trust in a team that could be high while driving in a Michigan snow storm. #2, Tim tried to jack up the price on me because of his bad decisions. Quote via text “We will be able to keep the move under $900.” Then when finished he handed me a bill for $1,550! Good hard working team but needs better management.

Bad operation with unqualified movers.
Damaged/destroyed two pieces of my furnishings, one was magazine rack gifted to me by my sister some 20 years ago, not-replaceable. The reason I gave two stars is the movers did set-up my bedroom at my new location. However when I asked for boxes marked STORAGE to be put in the Storage Area, almost everything was piled into that limited area... such as Shoes, Shirts, Collectible... etc.
UPDATE: Owner did refund me a portion of the moving fee. And replaced my magazine rack with a similar type.
So I raised this Review to 3 Stars!!

Great moving company. Good workers kind and take good care of customers things . fair pricing
