Review:

Our move from Salt Lake City to Austin was so easy because of Rachael and her crew! It was awesome how she kept us in the loop all the way, and even arranged for our delivery earlier than scheduled. Would definitely use Bailey's again.

I have moved several times during the past 35 years. Local, cross country and international. Bailey’s by far is the best company I have ever worked with. Our move coordinator Rachel was the best. From estimating, to pre-load communications, day of load check in, during transport and after unload—all excellent. And the crews on both ends…timely, professional, took great care to pack and handle our household goods. I highly recommend.

Our experience was first class from the beginning of the sales cycle with Chris Schuh to the end when Brock Jones pulled his truck away after unloading our new home.

Chris's weight and box estimate was spot on. Based on his advice, we were able to pack most of our unbreakable items and allowed Bailey's packers to handle all fragile items. The packers work was efficient and well organized. As we have unpacked, all items were intact (except for a lamp). The way they packed pictures was an art unto itself and demonstrated their level of expertise.

The driver (Brock Jones) and loaders were outstanding. There is an art and science to packing a truck and they staged everything in an organized and insightful way. They loaded almost 30,000 pounds and not one wall or item was even nicked. Some of the items they had to move out of the basement were large and heavy and they handled it like the pros they are. They were polite, respectful and a joy to interact with.

Brock delivered the truck the next week and quickly assessed how to unload it and was done in a day and a half. We can't say enough for his professionalism and delightful personality. He treated us like family.

This is where my only criticism of Bailey's comes in and it was the Denver unloaders that my comments are directed to.

We color coded all of our items and wrote the location for every box and piece of furniture. While the entire crew spoke Spanish, several were bi-lingual. We had sheets indicating which floor and location items were to go, but they didn't utilize it and placed items on the wrong floors, causing Brock to have them move the items and losing time. By noon, I spoke with the English speaking members and had them interpret to the rest of the team what they needed to do, which improved the process, but should not have been necessary.

They also dinged walls, scratched pieces of furniture and damaged some furniture due to carelessness and, in some cases, indifference to our property. They were nothing like the Salt Lake crew. In some individuals, there was an attitude of currishness and disdain for us as the customer. Fortunately, Brock noticed this and did not invite them back to finish the job the next day.

During the packing and loading phases in Salt lake, Jake came onsite daily to conduct QA. In Colorado, nobody from the Denver office showed up to do QA. If they had, I would have pointed out all I've written.

My only advice is if you get a crew that doesn't speak English that you find someone on the team who is fluent in English and Spanish and designate them to be the team lead. Make sure they understand what you expect and have them communicate it to the rest of the crew and then supervise the process, particularly large items that must be placed carefully to avoid damage. Do not hesitate to intervene and tell them to be more careful.

I suspect all of the large national companies experience the same challenges, but we chose Bailey's because of the hands-on process we felt every step of the way and would choose them again in a heartbeat.

Rachel Nielsen was a fantastic move coordinator. She kept me up to date on everything, every step of the way and always took the time to answer my questions. The movers (loading and delivery) were great - very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend and would use again.

Bailey's did a great and quick job moving my entire apartment from Utah to Oregon. Joanie was especially helpful and got me in contact with the movers on the other side. Their service was great and I have no complaints.
