Bought a used forklift from them. I spoke with the son Jerry over the phone and he had a couple units on hand in the size I was looking for. I thought their prices were fair which was the main reason I went with them. They were helpful. I tested the unit with no surprises. Jerry mentioned they try to get units from large companies that have maintenance groups. I could tell from some documentation and markings under the hood that that was the case. That said, it is still a used unit as is. I don't like having preventable problems, so I plan to do some maintenance myself, engine oil, hydraulic oil, plugs, etc.

I purchased a 3 door true freezer from Jerry for $2,300 at his Lake Forest location unit F. He requested l pay in full and that he would guarantee that nothing would happen to the freezer and would be delivered in two weeks. 2 to 3 weeks go by and I kept getting delays. Nick had told me that Jerry was out of town and the freezer will get delivered soon. Another 2 to 3 weeks later, Jerry contacted me and told me that his father had sold my freezer. He said you can he too have your money back or I’ll find you a better freezer. I said ok I’ll take another freezer because I really needed one. Then a couple of weeks later he said I have a freezer for you. I went to see it and it was terrible compared to other one. I told him no. A few weeks later I went there driving from Chicago to see another one. It wasn’t the same as the other but I was. He was supposed to deliver in two days, but ended up coming in two weeks. When it can the condensing unit under the unit wasn’t nailed to the frame and was sticking out of the area where it belongs. When I come to the location and plugged it in, the compressor didn’t turn on. I called a company to come check it out, and said the compressor is gone. I called Jerry, he said send me a picture of the electrical and the fuse. I sent it to him within 3 minutes. Then I had an electrician check the power, and says the power is fine. Jerry said I don’t know it was working when it was here. I explained to him that anything could of happened within those two weeks and during delivery. He said he would send someone in to check it out and we would go from there, and promised he would make it right. Store credit or something was his exact words. Since then Jerry has been forwarding my calls and ignoring my messages. Hoping this will go away. Please be careful, when dealing with the Betsios group. I asked to Jerry to fix, replace, anything to fix the situation but no response. Now I have $2,300 paper weight.
