I recently had the pleasure of working with Ben, Dru, Jay, and Jeff from Black Tie Moving during our transition into a new home, and I cannot recommend them highly enough!
From the beginning, Ben provided a complimentary estimate that included a thorough discussion of our moving needs. He was able to schedule the move according to our requirements and demonstrated remarkable patience, flexibility, and grace as we changed the dates and times multiple times while awaiting access to our new house. His immediate responsiveness via text and genuine interest in our transition were evident throughout the process.
As moving day approached, Dru reached out to confirm the details of our move, even texting me on a Saturday in anticipation of our Monday moving date. He was extremely responsive to my questions and showed great empathy when I shared how emotionally challenging this transition was for my teenaged son and me, as we were leaving the only home he has ever known.
On moving day, Jay called me within 30 minutes of their scheduled arrival to confirm plans and inform me they were en route, stopping to fuel the truck before arriving at the first address. Jay and Jeff arrived right on time, dressed professionally in Black Tie Moving logo shirts. Their clean truck, also displaying the company logo, underscored their professionalism.
Jay and Jeff were incredibly friendly and personable, working diligently and carefully. They dedicated 7 hours to ensure every detail of our move was handled meticulously, wrapping items, padding doorways, and skillfully removing and replacing doors and legs from furniture to make everything fit perfectly. They were flexible and patient while I directed where to place items and even helped move things out into the garage to create space for the new arrivals.
A charming touch was their rolling out of a literal red carpet—a nice padded non-slip material—to protect the flooring in all directions during the move. Jay and Jeff clearly enjoyed working together, sharing laughs, singing, and playfully bantering about who was doing things better. Their humor and joy provided great comfort, especially as this move was emotionally challenging for my son and me, transitioning from our beloved home of almost 16 years.
Jay and Jeff paused their work to attend to my feelings during this emotional transition, showing extreme compassion and positivity. I felt a strong sense of support from them throughout the process.
The only feedback I would provide relates to the estimate pricing. The original quote was significantly lower than the final total due to the multiple changes in planning on my part, including adding more furniture and an additional address, which extended the moving time considerably. I realize now that I should have checked in on the estimate changes as our plans evolved.
Overall, I can confidently say we were extremely satisfied with the service, timing, communication, professionalism, and personal care provided by Ben, Dru, Jay, and Jeff. By the end of the day, it felt like we had formed a friendship.
