10/10!! I had the best experience with Blue Mountain Movers!! Easy to work with, fast, Efficient and careful with my belongings.
Michelle and her whole crew were beyond phenomenal. They were prompt when I first emailed about an estimate and got me one within 24 hours after doing a walk through. Once we scheduled them to help move us, the office staff was so great with my million questions.
The day of the move they were on time and the crew wasted zero time getting to work. They were incredibly efficient, careful with my belongings, courteous, and wonderful guys. Michelle came on a Saturday morning to meet with me, get them started, and then came back throughout the day to check in and help. They worked so efficient that in the end the total was actually less than the estimate. This company deserves more than 5 stars. Absolutely wonderful!

Imagine waking up on moving day to find that the moving company you hired outsourced to another moving company who didn’t show up. Then you spend your day scrambling to find an alternate plan yourself. You load a leaky U-Haul, leave a day late, and end up with damaged furniture. Despite the move being a disaster, the original company demands more money. That is a brief summary of our experience with Blue Mountain Moving.
If you’d like the extended version…read on.
We arranged with Blue Mountain Moving (BMM) to move us from Montana to Lewiston, ID. On the morning of the move, a driver and U-Haul truck arrived, but no crew. (Our understanding when we made our deposit several weeks earlier was we would have a BMM crew from start to finish). BMM decided at some point to outsource to another moving company who did not show up. (Note: We didn’t want another company…we specifically chose BMM based on their positive reviews and location.)
As the owner Michelle was scrambling to find a new crew, so were we. A few hours later, we found some guys willing to travel with us from MT to ID, so we proposed a solution to Michelle which was, in essence: “You keep our $1500 deposit to cover the U-Haul and your expenses. We will pay your driver directly the hourly rate you would pay her, we’ll return the truck on time, and we will figure out the rest of this move by ourselves.” Michelle verbally agreed to the plan.
With the help of the driver, (and our kids who missed work to help in our crisis) we basically loaded most of the truck ourselves that day. By that evening, when the guys arrived to help with the heaviest items, a thunderstorm caused a local power outage and we had to finish loading in the storm. All of this delayed our move by a full day.
The next morning while en route to Idaho, Michelle called and accused us of trying to save money by excluding her, and demanded more money for her business expenses. If it was your business and your clients had to take over and do your job (load the truck, find new laborers, and pay for the related expenses), would you complain to them about how stressful it was for YOU and ask them to pay YOU more? (Most people don’t hire movers to “save money”, they hire movers to eliminate extra stress, backache and headache, which unfortunately, we only had more of.)
We paid for a new crew, their hotels, their gas, 13 hours of their travel time, labor, the driver (who worked her butt off helping us load/unload), and an additional amount to BMM (because she threatened to hold our belongings hostage). Not to mention, after we paid BMM more, we discovered the U-Haul was leaky and caused further damage to our belongings.
No 'smooth move' for us. Hopefully others who choose BMM have a better experience, and ours was just a fluke.
