After reading other reviews, I'm guessing i am not getting my refund back.
It's been 2 months since they agreed to refund and I still have not received it.
Should have done my research.
I contracted with Lucas Williams on 9/28/24 to move items from Panama City Beach, Florida to Bremerton, Washington. Items included six dining chairs, one recliner, a dog crate, dining table, dog bed, sofa table, and a six piece sectional with a total cost of $1638.52 and my paid my down payment of $634. I added items to my move two days prior to the pick up which increased my cost to approximately $3600 so I again paid an additional down payment. The movers arrived on Friday, 10/25/24, at the scheduled time. Loading went fine until after everything was on the truck and then there was a new price which was roughly $4800 and I had been charged an additional $150 for a bulky sofa. I didn’t have a bulky sofa and only the sectional that was on the first estimate. I asked the men if they were going to start driving immediately or if they were going to wait a day and they said that they were going to start driving immediately. Lucas had told me it would take six days to get to Washington. When the movers were here we put the first date that the furniture could be delivered as 10/30/24. I asked if they were driving all the way to Washington and they said that they were not because it’s too cold out there. On 10/30/24 my son called to see when his furniture would be delivered. He was told that they would give him a 2 to 10 day heads up. That statement confused me so on Saturday, 11/2/24 I decided to call the customer service number. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when I found out the furniture had been taken to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was sitting down there and had been for over a week. Today I have paid $4000 to have furniture delivered to Bremerton, Washington, and it was driven 8+ hours further away from Washington. I talked with Robin on Saturday and she said she would call me back today, Monday and as of this review, I have not heard from anyone. No I called and I just talked to Jessica from We Care for You and she is working on getting a driver and truck. Bright Star is ONLY a broker and they will promise you anything to get your business. They do not lift one finger in the move and have been completely unreachable throughout this whole process. I would never use them! EVER! Lucas Williams should be ashamed of himself! This is the worst customer service ever and my total dissatisfaction rests on Bright Star!
If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT HIRE BRIGHT STAR MOVING OR THEIR CONTRACTOR LOADRANS LLC. Bright Star Moving is NOT a moving a company, they are a broker, who in my case hired Loadrans LLC. As far as I'm concerned both of these companies are criminal in nature and NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
Do you like being mislead about how soon you'll see your possessions again? Do you like waiting over a month to get your things back? Do you like being given a 'good faith estimate' that seems reasonable, in order to hook you, and then when the moving company hired shows up, they tell you it will cost 3 times that because you did not give them an accurate inventory of what you need moved? Do you like being given endless pages of fine print that requires a lawyer to understand and being pressured to sign that contract without even having time to read their criminal clauses that excuse them from any liability for anything, and provides 'insurance' for damaged or lost items that would pay you pennies on the dollar - if you're lucky? Do you like moving companies that show up a day early, and then when you ask them to come back at the agreed time, they show up 3 hours early and threaten to leave you hanging because you're not ready? Do you like companies that don't show this same commitment to beating agreed times when it comes to delivering your personal items? Do you like companies that meet 80% of the US Dept of Transportation's flags they list on their webpage, educating consumers of what to look for in scam moving companies (check it out)? Do you like not having a clear idea on where your stuff is, where it's going or when you'll get it - if ever? Do you like not having your emails, calls and texts returned when you want to get information and updates from movers? On the rare occasion you do reach someone, do you like each person you talk to being in a different state and not having answers to your questions? Do you like that person saying they can't get a hold of the person that would know, at that moment, so they say they'll find out later and call you back - but they never call you back? Do you like poor customer service with surly attitudes? Do you like companies where one hand doesn't know what the other is doing and all plans and updates are nebulous? If these seem good to you, then Bright Star and Loadrans are for you.
My belongings were picked up on July 26,2024. They arrived a day early, late in the afternoon with a small truck and one driver and no one else to load. I was extremely Ill so my brother had packed everything I was taking and then he had to help load. I had already paid a large down payment and and when everything was on the truck the second payment increased by quite a bit. At that time I was told they would be in touch with me and everything would be delivered within 30 days. Now is when it really got interesting. I was in the hospital until after the first week of August. When I could I started calling all the numbers I had, but I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. I started reading reviews and discovered this was a pattern for this company. On one of these reviews I read that the actual company is in the Ukraine. I mention this because now at the end of October I have heard from them again. They have informed me that my things were in storage and before they could consider delivering it to me I would have to pay $300. A month to the storage company through them. If I didn’t pay this they would have to auction my belongings. This was done in a text message that did include a telephone number. I called and talked to an extremely unpleasant woman who told me about me being responsible for this. I told her I would have trouble paying anything because they had been unavailable to me and now it had only been a week since the city my items were stored in had just gone through a hurricane and for all I knew they could be underwater. I requested a picture of my items. I was informed they had no one in the area to do that. I told her I knew they were in the Ukraine but surely they could send someone. She admitted they were in the Ukraine but when necessary they would deliver my things. By now I have replaced necessities, bought new clothes, etc. and I am just plain angry. I told them I would not pay them one penny until everything I shipped had been unloaded and was deemed to be in the same condition it was when it was picked. I’m 81, living on a fixed income and I may be cutting my nose off to spite my face but if I never see these things again I can live with. I just won’t be scammed by these criminals anymore. Remember if the original price is just to good to be true it probably is.
If I could put 0 stars i would. Canceled our truck over a month ago and still no refund on our deposit! Was told Thursday oct 17th that the money would be in my account Friday or Saturday at the latest. It is now Monday Oct 21st and still no money! They keep giving the running around acting like they can only due so much which is BS! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
