We had a large move across a long distance. It's large home with 5 people and a dog that went from NJ to CA.
Overall the move quality was good, the crew leader, Israel, was the leader on both ends and drove our goods across the country. Very service oriented, high quality, and fast.
We had phone support from the sales person, Alan, who did a good job estimating the weight, and Susan, our day to day coordinator during the move.
My issue (and why I'm not putting this higher) is schedulers and lack of transparency to the day to day coordinator. We scheduled our pick up well in advance of our actual move to CA with the notion we'd limit the time without things in CA. We were told a time window in writing for goods arrival and verbally explained it would be at the earlier end (as a second shipment was part of the booking so already scheduled).
What happened was Budd Van Lines decided to schedule another job for our driver after our packing and pick up (they apparently can put the truck w/ your stuff in storage to do this). That put them outside the written promised delivery window (and much later than the verbal commitment). I was not getting much input from our coordinator during that time, and it's clear there's not much communication between the scheduler / dispatcher, and your day to day coordinator.
I asked for a reduction in fees, and the only thing they offered was something that was less than half the cost of one day of a hotel. No follow up responses when I challenged that.
Quality of mover was good but they are greedy which put us without our stuff for 2 1/2 weeks which didn't need to happen especially given the size of our move.
Michael Angelo took great care of us on a hot and busy day. Very professional, and clearly knows what he's doing!
We had an excellent experience with this company and would highly recommend them. Moving can be stressful but the movers made sure they did everything in their power to ease that for us. From their professionalism, to their considerate and careful handling of our personal items, to their engaging demeanors, we could not have asked for more. A special shoutout to Mike “Michelangelo” for going above and beyond,. Several times we had to have him unpack and repack items and he did so willingly with a smile on his face. At no time were any of our requests met with anything but an eagerness to assist. We feel we received a five star experience from him.
We did a long distance move from Ohio to Arizona. We contacted Bud Van Lines in February 2022 for an end of June move date. We only talked to this company because of their one touch service. We knew our Items had to go into storage for 5 months and were excited that our whole house would only be moved once on the container and then to our new house. We knew this was a way to protect our items from damage. Dave Mau assured us we were setting this up in plenty of time for a July 1 move. I did not competitively bit movers because no other moving company offered this way to store and move our belongings. The day of the move, a Moving Van showed up instead of the container that we had contracted. I contacted our moving rep Lisa Harvey. She said there were no containers available. Lisa put me in touch with Tom Torcomian. He told me our furniture would stay on the truck until we needed it delivered to our home in 5 months. I agreed that this was a good solution to the situation. We received our furniture at the end of November and it all had been moved into storage. So, our furniture was moved at least twice. I paid a high price for a move/storage that promised me one touch. I chose this company because it is known as the best company to work with. Yes, Dave and Lisa were nice, the drivers were good, the laborers were respectful and I thank you for this. I just wish I was told the truth about what was actually going to happen to my personal belongings.
